Quick Screen movements etc....

I have noticed in watching the videos online that numerous people are just running through the side screens so quickly.

Is there something I am missing? I find it VERY clunky and slow to move around them. I am not complaining about that, I just figured it will get smoother over time with game development, but it seems it is a 'me' issue ;)

Is there a key mapping or something that alot of people are using for the easy screen navigating?

Thanks

I definitely map those controls to my ch hotas. They're in the 'Interface Mode' secton of the control options (about 2/3 down). See UI Panel up, down, right, left, next panel tab, panel select, etc...

On my X52, I've got the buttons under the MFD on the throttle for left-panel, comm-menu, right panel. Got the little hat things on the stick for switching "tabs" and moving around the menus. Primary-fire is the selection button.

I can flick through the menus really fast, so haven't felt the need to try and use any macros (yet).

They have probably used them so often that it has become procedural memory. Repeat something often enough and you will eventually be able to do it very quickly without being consciously aware of the individual steps anymore.

Also, after playing the game for some time, you'll "get" where everything is so you pretty much navigate the panels really quick... like get docking permissions, setting next jump point etc.

It could also be the difference between button presses and head tracking to the screens.

But yeah, if you mean cycling through the menus, you just learn where what you want is and already have your fingers ready.

Voice Attack software works nicely - multi commands.

The users imagination is the only limiting factor with multi commands and Voice Attack.

Hands free? Yes.
Fast? Very! Quicker then 98% of all who use "manual" method.
Want an advantage over 98% of others? as above....
