Quick way to find resource extraction sites?

Hello everyone! Is there an online guide for some quick way for me to find low and high intensity resource extraction sites besides having to spend hours flying two systems with rings planets and just stumble upon one?

Generally look in mid or higher population systems around planets that have Rocky, Metal Rich or Metallic rings. In most cases they'll have an RES of some type.

Just head to where you think you would be most likely to find generic miners mining. As ShadowWolf says, I have had great success in populated systems with metal rich or metallic rings. I have never had to search long. If that is where you are heading, perhaps you are just getting unlucky. I have never tried differentiating based on economy, but it is possible I tend to head to systems with an extraction economy. Seems like a good place to find extraction zones. :)

One of my biggest annoyances with Elite: Dangerous. I had to spend forever flying to random systems for about 3 hours to find a system with a compromised nav beacon. Since there is no way to find one with your galaxy map or system map it's fly around and get lucky. GREAT!

Know what's worse? Trying to find a system with a specific ship. I wanted to test the Imperial Clipper during the beta and I wanna buy an Imperial Courier, and WANT to fly the two new ships in the 1.5 beta but with no way to know which systems sell what ships, you gotta fly to new systems, DOCK with a station, and hope. I know what you'll say. "Look for high tech," but THAT IS NOT A FIX! That just narrows the ANNOYANCE.

There is a ships tab in system maps for your ships stored at stations, why can't we know what the station sells for ships? This saves HOURS of annoying searches and people don't have to make entire forum threads and other pages just dedicated to finding stations with certain ships.

Perhaps some form of limited-distance advertising by NPC agents would be a nice solution. Allow such listings in the system maps within a 5ly range--or whatever distance is found to work out best. Makes perfect sense from a lore perspective, without necessarily making it so easy to find these locations that they become bland and uninteresting. I agree that random system hopping sucks, but I also appreciate not having everything at my fingertips.

usually planets with rings + station in system should give you RES!
Doesn'teven have to be an extraction system! heck i made millions in Sol High RES alone! Then I discovered HAZ RES and my credits per hour jumped astronomically (thank you 150 to 200k FDLs :) )

Go to the current CG System Cayurorme! Its got multiple HAZ RES, High RES, RES, CGs both High and Low Intensities! Amazing System!

Also, I believe that you just need to fly within 1000 ls of each major body to check it out. If you get to, say 900 ls or so, check your nav panel and if nothing shows up then just move on to the next one. Bodies with rings of course, and those not icy or rocky.

Go into your Galaxy Map and sort the systems based on Economy - what you are looking for is Extraction. Deselect all boxes except for Extraction Based Economies.
After that you can use your filter to set the Population - set it just below 1/2.

What should be left for you is Extraction Economy with a Medium High Population. You can then select that system from the Map and check to see that it fits your needs. This method should save you quite a bit of time.
Hope this helps.
