So I have been mucking around with a T10 before I head out into the black and having some fun with SLFs. I have posted an idea in the suggestions forum Quick Win For Explorers - Exploration Shuttle about an Exploration Shuttle based on the same idea.....

Adapt the current SLF mechanism to include a new Exploration Shuttle
The Exploration Shuttle would be a lightweight weaponless vessel that can carry an SRV and is capable of agile System wide supercruise. It would be carried by larger slower long range ships, such as the T10 and used to scan planets, land and deploy SRVs. I suggest that it is designed for atmospheric landings with wings of some sort.
When Q4 comes along it could be part of the revamped Exploration mechanics we are all looking forward to. In the meantime Explorers can break up the monotony by have some fun racing around canyons etc.
