Quickest way to gain rep in a system?

Ok.. just tried to help the authorities take down a wanted criminal. One of my bullets clipped the authority vessel so now I'm "unfriendly", wanted, hounded by griefers etc, etc.

So in the meantime, before they fix the god awful criminal system in the game, what is the fastest way to get rep back up? Don't care if it is a grind, exploit or whatever, just want the fastest way to undo the negative rep so I can get back to enjoying the game!

ahh cool, ok. i wasn't sure if killing wanted ships actually increased system rep or if you only got it from missions.

No idea how you do define 'fast', but usually ~10 missions (sometimes more, sometimes less) for a single faction grant you a 'level-up'.
Downside: depending on the factions in system, you may loose rep for another faction by doing that.

I have to admit, i don't know if those numbers are true for 'hostile', but i've tried this in 2 different systems while being 'unfriendly' there.
I also don't know if the major faction rep has an influence on how much you gain for a mission.
