Newcomer / Intro Quickly toggle Focus on Panels option?

does anyone know of a quick method to toggle the Focus on panels?
i currently have to go into the controls menu to switch them to focus or do nothing as you look at them

I have "do nothing" set on all of them and switch them on by buttons. It's the only way to see them only when you need them.

(What I'm trying to say is that the answer to your question is "No". Sorry)

If you turn off headloock activation of those panels it mill make you a faster, better pilot.

Headlook has to be activated or deactivated in Controls before you play the game.
There's no in-game toggle.

However if you go to Options > Controls > Mode Switches the default UI Focus is L Shift.
If you look at the row under that you can set UI Focus Mode to 'Cycle'.

This means that if you keep pressing Left-Shift it will cycle through the panels.
It always starts with Panel 1.
You'll have to tab across for the sub-panels.

As Chris said you can also go to individual panels by allocating a button press to each one.
So you can use either method or a combination of both.

If you're using Windows 10 you might have to turn off the option for sticky keys - which pressing Left-Shift several times will otherwise activate.

Thanks for the replies. i use trackIR for headlook, so it depends on my activity whether i want them to activate or not.

i am currently out exploring, so when i am driving my SRV i do not want the panels to activite. But if i am in SC and i want to select a planet and see the Hologram at the same time i need the panels to activate. Then if i am flying close to a planet surface (i'm using a T-10) they get in the way of my view.
If i am in different ships like an Anaconda or a FDL then the panels do not obstruct my view and they are handy to activate. Although i still often focus on them using the joystick button.

Maybe it's only me that gets annoyed and feels the need to activate/deactivate them as i trundle along.

I find them annoying sometimes, primarily because they're so large.
As a PC user I've often wondered if I could get them to display on a separate monitor.

Hmmm. I have headlook toggle on a button. I press it, I can look about with the mouse. Press it again and depending on option settings, it either stays, or reverts to looking straight ahead.

i'm using trackIR, so i am constantly looking around. As i look around, sometimes i want the panels to appear and then there are times i don't. When these panels appear can only be set in the controls as to "focus the panel" or "do nothing". i was looking for a shortcut or key bind of some sort.

Like I said earlier, you can have the panels off when you're looking around and only activate them when you need them. The default keybind on the keyboard is 1, 2, 3, 4 keys, or if you are using a joystick you can for example bind them to a POV hat. If you have something with a pinkie switch, you can use it as a "Shift" function, so the panels don't clog your bindings.
