Quite a special sight! Green solar flare? (Picutres + Poll)

Saw this far out in deep space while traveling.

Seems this A class star is having a flare up. Haven't seen a green one before.

What I don't get, is... why dropping so near to it? We would be melted in a second I think, but that's not the issue... it's just painfull always seing the same thing all over the time again and again...

I've been "emergency stop" forced out of super cruise a few times when I still had the throttle up after jumping in.

And once there was no star visible right after exiting hyperspace so I just flew straight aheard towards a station - but it turned out there actually was a star there...

I've had blue ones, as well. Rather ugly looking, too.
