Quiviry CZs - I don't get it

Can somebody please explain this to me? I usually don't do CZs but this time I wanted to test-ride my new Vulture.

I thought it works like this: I go there, I shoot at someone I kill a few more I get combat bonds for every kill. Just that I didn't get any after killing everything from Sidewinders to Anacondas. Then I went to Stapleton Dock to sign up with the Imperial forces, and went beck to another CZ. Killed some more - still no combat bonds.

So how do I earn money by working the CZs?

you need to pick a faction on the right panel, then pewpew to get bonds! If you don't choose a faction they won't reward you

You have to side with a faction first. It's on your right hand side in the functions menu.

Did you choose a side from the right panel, last menu, first option.

No, just shot someone, assuming it to have the same effect. Practically, it does.

I've got the r/h panel open, , under Functions it has FACTION - NONE. I can scroll up and down and use the space bar to deploy/retract landing gear, cargo scoop, etc, but not select a faction.

You can't pick a faction unless you are in a Combat Zone.

You choose a faction only inside a CZ, not outside.

No s*** Sherlock! I'm IN a combat zone.... and cant select a faction. So, HOW do I do it!

If spaceebar doesn't work, I recall reading somewhere that it may be bugged, and if you log out and back in while inside the CZ may fix it. Give that a shot.

Space bar or enter*, can't recall which, then choose one of the two factions depending upon who you got the kill mission(s) for.

By the way, if you're there now, have Patreus' big guns arrived yet?

And learned a lesson... once you have killed the requisite number of ships.. BUG OUT!

That lesson cost me 600,000 credits, plus the 150,000 bounty, and circa 100,000 exploration data credits Ah well, 'tis only a game
