I went to do a rare run today, first time in a while and I visited 6 stations for a total of 27 rare's ?
Is this what you are finding now?
If so this one will be my last run

In a Type 6 and up, regular commodity trading is probably more profitable. Rares is a great money maker for lower cargo capacity ships such as the Cobra. That's my experience while grinding to my maxed ASP.

They turned rare trading into a background activity, something you do while having fun doing something else e.g watching a movie, or playing some other game.

Been doing a trip of 8 stations one way and 7 back the other wa from tox to thrutis and was getting 3 mill a round trip on 100 tonnes in a t6 wasnt pushing for speed so wasnt fast as possible, coffee breaks while some stations reloaded there stock approx 9 mins on that could easily take 90mins to do less if u really grind it .

Nothing has changed, was flying a route yesterday, simply wait for the next supply (10 minutes) The spreadsheet below tells you max cap and supply rate.

I can do the same route multiple times, the amount you initially get on landing will be random, sometimes it is near the max supply, sometimes you have to wait for the next tick.

this is the route I fly, it also tells you the max allowance and range within the random supply rate.

3m Really? I am in type 6 but no way I am going to fill the cargo even tho I will go back to stations for restock but at an average of 5 items I doubt I will have 60 tons to go to lave with so works out about 160k per 10 tons so will get about 960k for 1.5hrs running around

they have made it so that the rares spawn are lower than you had before is my guess, sometimes I dock at a station that supplies a reasonable max allocation (say 17T) but it might take 2 additional spawns after landing to max out...

sometimes I hang around for the spawns other times i just fly to the next station in my route and double back and pick up the next spawn if the systems and stations are close enough...

For me rare trading is just an aside to gathering exploration data on systems along the route I am flying

I wasn't really sure what I was doing exactly but figured it out after a while. Pretty sure I made 2.5 million or so in the round trip between Wintty and Witchhaul, took about 5 hours on and off but like I said I hadn't really researched it.

Some of the max allocations are a (little) bit down on what the reddit thread suggested, so they may be tweaking a bit.

Keep your trade data, then you can fill up your empty holds with a tradeable good for the next stop. Not as nice as being full of rares, but it sure makes it suck less when you dock up and there are only 2 rares and you don't feel like waiting for a few refreshes.

Good point. I have done that (notes every where lol) But nothing really makes any profit on my route :(
I do not wait only on the last pick up from where I started then back again to the first ;)

You should check your math! With the new reduced spawn qty it's very unlikely to get 3 mil in 90 minutes or less. That would mean roughly 200 rares for this amount (15,000 profit each) - really like to see you record a run where you collect 200 units in 90 minutes.

Type 6 is borderline. You can fill up to ~75 tonnes of rares in the Lave area if you visit each station two or three times. Visit 3-4 more planets and your 100 tonnes is full. It is still a nice and easy way to make money. It is about 1.5 mil in an hour or less, depending how fast you are trying to do it. I always get distracted for exploration and stuff :)

Yes agree may just get my cobra and do bounty hunting during resupply I also have a advanced discovery scanner on it. Type 6 deff feels over kill now

Isn't that what the entire game is at the current state, it is for me I know.
