Horizons Radio chatter has disappeared!

Just this..have any other CMDR's noticed that the "radio chatter" around stations has ceased/disappeared recently? I have tried muting/unmuting in the Options in game to no avail. The station radio comms about docking/approach is still there but now very quiet/reduced. What I miss is the totally irrelevant chatter such as "Sit tight commander, a rescue ship has been dispatched, and is on it's way to your location" etc. etc. Has this new (much liked) effect been nerfed or is it my install/settings? Any help appreciated (I know it's a small thing in the grand scheme of things)[where is it]

The station is still communicating directly to me, although I don't hear the background chatter...
I checked the audio settings and there is nothing in there specifically for radio chatter, so I don't think it's your settings.

Hi CMDR 4112... Backer 46103 here..lol
Thanks for your reply, there is a setting under sound options that reads something like, "Flight Control Announcer & Background Radio Chatter".
It's quite near middle of the list of options, possibly nested under something else........... I'll fire the game up and go look (being lazy).....;)
It is under: NON-PLAYER VOICE COMMUNICATION VOLUME: and reads as: "Adjust The Volume Of Non-Player Communications Including Flight Controllers and Radio Chatter.
However, I now can't get more than a pathetic whisper out of the volume slider even on maximum, so just about hearing the Flight Controller give directions, but the "Radio Chatter" has gone. I think this has been (?accidentally?) nerfed on last update...It's a real pity in my opinion (for what it's worth)
Have some rep for replying CMDR

It was there last night for me.

But I suspect your account has been hacked...

Right you are Sir, although it has no dropdown menu or a submenu to manage individual channels like the options above it for example: Ship Voice Volume.
It was on full volume and unmuted, did not think anything more of it.

However, I have played around with the "Optimise For" selection and the options on the dropdown menu, still, I haven't noticed any difference in radio chatter, only an uncomfortable
"thump" when dropping out of witch-space, plus the deep bass on "Full Range" setting.

Since posting on this thread, I have been keeping an ear out for the radio chatter while doing missions and I have noticed that I only hear it at planetary bases, but it appears it's more
than likely the PA announcements similar to the ones at stations. Outposts of course are dead quiet, eerie at most.
I do remember the chatter (stations communicating with other pilots/NPCs) from the Horizons Beta and have a feeling you may be right by saying it may have been nerfed unintentionally.

I have just heard "radio chatter" as I left an orbiting station, it was very feint though.
.

Yes you are right, if you go silent on approach to "some" (mainly planetary bases) stations, you can hear the chatter faintly. I think the sound on ED is pretty good on the whole...that there is some variation between settings is just fine. Shame the volume (noticeability) is so low nowadays. Perhaps FD will teak it back up sometime.
I think the real beauty of ED is the fantastically integrated visuals meshed with fine audio. Sometimes I would fly out from a busy Coriolis station, turn back to face the station/planet, power down and drift backwards away into space, listening to the radio chatter with the station traffic going to and fro against a backdrop of the galaxy centre. Very atmospheric....well done FD!!!

Yes, flying through canyons often produced very atmospheric music at exactly the right moment, fantastic.
.
I was just on a very interesting planet just sitting there in my T7 admiring the view.
Suddenly I heard a low noise just above the ship beeps that sounded like the noise a barnacle makes, creepy.

If I have 5.1 or 7.1 surround on the voice chatter is almost inaudible. I haven't bothered switching back (to stereo in sound card settings, not in game) but if I did I'd anticipate them coming back.

in fact the voicechatter is lower if i change my audiosetup from 5.1 or 7.1 to stereo, recent patch
made the radio chatter lower not higher.

FD have completely fixed the problem of low/missing radio chatter that had been so atmospheric. Thanks FD. Good fix...see last line of todays fix notes
