Community Event / Creation Radio Skvortsov - The best dad rock in the galaxy

[SUB](it's a link, click it)[/SUB]

Featuring a collection of the best old-world classics and new-world funk in the galaxy and the latest in news from civilized space, Radio Skvortsov is Your Voice in the Dark. Let Disc Commander Felix Dyson spin you a collection of truly ancient tunes (or whatever else he feels like throwing into the rotation) to see you on your way for those long meandering voyages among the stars, or tune in to our GalNet hypercasts for an update on current events in the bubble. You can even follow us on Twitter!

Broadcasting semi-live 24/7 from the independent Anaconda Darien Gap, Radio Skvortsov is a free public hypercast made possible by generous grants from the Diamond Frogs’ TeleCommunications Access for the Public initiative and the New Galactic Cooperative of Worlds' MediaWorks Division, as well as through donations from listeners like you. Also ad money. And while you're at it, check out our sister station, Shazbot Syndicate, for nu-80s electrojams.

Station Management would like to remind listeners that Radio Skvortsov is not a pirate station, and any overpowering of public hypercast frequencies is merely coincidental and most likely a sign that you should upgrade your equipment anyway.

Anything that is added to the news cycle will also be posted as its own clip when it gets put in the rotation. Speaking of which:

Happy New Year, listeners! Disc Commander Felix Dyson brings you a special news report about the passing of 3301 and the merry band of mercenaries who saved Christmas, as well as some singing I guess.

More Aussie stuff would be great, Australia pretty much had the dad-rock market cornered from 1975 - 1990.

edit: also, I'd recommend the Chris Hadfield version of Space Oddity. It's a fitting tribute to David Bowie, and the first hit song recorded in space.

Disc Commander Felix Dyson brings you some on-location recordings of those funky alien barnacles everyone's been talking about, as well as some news on what may be the largest privately funded scientific venture in recent history. Also I guess a station shut down or something, but that happens all the time.

Disc Commander Felix Dyson brings you some good news regarding humanitarian relief efforts in LFT 37, bad news about a blown up Interdictor in a system with an unpronouncable name, and predictable news about the Emperor's Dawn being destroyed... again.

BREAKING NEWS

Disc Commander Felix Dyson brings you a breaking special report from Eravate, as local militias attack lightly armed research vessels without provocation.

Love it! Want to add it to my Voice Attack playlist. What address do I use if I want to run it on VLC media player? I already have Hutton Orbital Radio and Radio Sidewinder on my list :D

Added to my Voice Attack radio tuner.

Wow, that's four in-character radio stations I have now: Radio Sidewinder, Hutton Orbital Radio, Wasp Radio, and this.

One downside - asking my computer to run it. Obviously Skvortsov isn't going to really be recognized by a computer trained to recognize english... I had to use "Squirts Off" as the closest approximation ;)

We have hit the big 1K: 1000 tracks, 65 hours and 44 minutes of all your favorite galactic classics. Here's to the next thousand!
