Rail Gun on Type 6?

Tried to fit a rail gun on a Type 6 and it won't fire, power available (A spec power plant and
distrubutor), 4 pips to WEP, it won't charge. Is the Type 6 WEP capacitor too small to charge a single rail gun or something?
 
I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but don't bother with weapons. Just run from inderdictions in that weak ship.
 
From the way you're talking I'd say you're not that new, but you never know so here goes...Weapon grouping?

The WEP capacitor power dropped two bars as I held fire down, then jumped up to full again and repeats but the rail
gun never fires, yes I know they take a while to charge before firing. This is just a single rail not trying to equip 2 of
them.

Experimental Type 6 (4) NPCs (0) so far.
 
Seeing how you can fit and fire Railguns on an Eagle, which only has a Class 2 distributor, the class 3 distributor on the Type 6 should suffice... unless you downgraded it... ?
 
the six is not al hunter.
but if you set two laser turrets backwards you can kill allot of smaller ships.
just keep close but always turn away.
they set you back a mil though

Are AI pirates in small ships really this bad that they'd lose to a single class 1 beam turret?

3A distributor I think, but maybe I bought a 2A by mistake, I'll double check when I get back to the game.

also, you're aware how rail guns work, right?
 
Wouldn't those rails heat the T6 up to the extreme ? It is already the hottest running ship in the game without weapons with a high thermal profile.

I just don't bother because when trading I wanna grind out the money as fast as possible and leave the fun for later
 
I roll with a fixed beam, and a torpedo pylon on my type 6. It's quite fun to waste those pesky NPCs with it. With an A rated power couple, you should be able to run a rail gun.
 
I have two turreted pulse lasers and regularly destroy sidewinders and eagles

Hmm, I think I'll give that a shot rather then just running without guns and fleeing from everything. It's a shame when I am forced to run from a harmless pirate with no shields. Only reason I am going to avoid Frenotx weapon configuration is A: t uses ammo, and B. I'd have to aim.
 
You have to aim with the fixed beam, but a fixed beam is the only thing that's going to strip shields off with any amount of alacrity. The torpedo is a lock on, fire-and-forget weapon that you get one shot with, costs 15k cr to fire, and will outright end most small ships once their shield is down. Ain't no kill like overkill.

I have a rail gun on my Cobra.

The rail in the T6 makes the charging noise, stops and starts charging again without firing.
3A distributor 3A power plant only one rail gun installed, no utility mount modules, it just won't fire!
