Rail Guns Super Pen vs Cascade

So if I were running 1 Small and 1 Medium Rail, should I go Feedback on the small and Super Pen on the medium or vice versa and why?
Secondly, if I can't imagine landind more than twice on a banking ship should I just go Super Pen on both?

If it's pve, I'd go medium feedback small super pen, but honestly, I've stopped using super pen. Landing 5 shots on the enemy PP (medium), or 7 (small, it's actually 7.5 but one hopes that your other weapons will hit the module a bit as well, so you'll likely get away with 7), simply takes just as long as destroying their hull with your primary weapons.

If PvP, you'll need to go both one or both the other. 1 small cascade won't be enough feedback to stop a cell and 1 small penetrator won't be enough to do module damage quick enough to make it not worth using your primary weapons on the hull. If you can fit one in, add a corrosive MC to amplify your hull damage and use two feedbacks, a medium and a small will work well.

This is on a Viper 4 so I am counting on them to "punch up" at larger targets that my small and medium weapons have a hard time penetrating their hulls. Truthfully, I rarely have the opportunity to fire on someone banking anyway so maybe I should super pen them both.

What Aashen wrote.

If PvE skip the superpen as long as the powerplant bug is still in effect.
If PvP I would use the c2 with superpen and the c1 with feedback. Or both feedback.

Feedback has a damage penalty, but superpen takes much longer to reload.

The likelihood of being able to leverage that reload time is very small unless you are only fighting large, slow ships.
I'd probably go both superpen, but if you are running into Cutters etc then dual feedback might pay off.

Hm... I would say that with the low overall DPS output from only 2 small and 2 medium hardpoints, that your priority should be preventing shield cells coming to fruition. I would definitely run a high dps medium pair (such as a pair of overcharged MCs, one incendiary and one corrosive), and a pair of small feedback railguns. You'll get decent dps from the primary pair and very good cell stopping power from the pair of smalls. Anyway, have a play around, you only need long range grade 1, so it's easy to make lots of nice pairs to experiment with. :)

Yeah the offset firing time of the two classes isnt ideal either. Just havent ever run a ship that didnt have some type of laser. Seems counter-intuitive. I do have a pair of maxed out OC multis with incin. and corrosive. I will give this loadout a shot. And Ashen you are correct in that playing around with loadouts is what is fun.

Yeah the PvP groups bash on premium ammo and I see why but I dont really have a problem with it. I mean sh*t, I am fighting Vetts with a Viper.

How about a lightweight courier, with lightweight G5 weapons AND no premium ammo, against a corvette... :) It;s a long video, sorry...my point being that your VM4 will be a lot quicker than this...this thing boosts 800mps in what can just barely be called combat spec. 320mj and very low dps, but she gets the job done in a pinch and when she's had enough, one boost and she's gone! :)
