"Raising Awareness" A path to the dark side

Unless your a competent Cmdr who can a) avoid interdiction in the first place b) enjoy the challenge

Exactly play your own way which includes not having to have strong shields

It'd be a shame if people learned how to play the game. It'd be an outright travesty if people learned to utilize mechanics like avoiding interdictions, high waking, countermeasures, stealth builds, and increasing their survivability in different situations.
Thankfully learning is hard , so I'm not running out of people to shoot at yet.

They can play however they want outside of open, but in open....
We all float down here

But I don't believe the "No Child Left Behind" policy is healthy for our children.

I'm giving out participation trophies to shieldless craft at supersonic speeds.

I didn't expect mercy from "greifers" when I was starting out, and I survived the buffed murder npcs as a trader in the previous updates. I feel like I'm playing spaceship in a foam ball pit sometimes. I understand some CMDRs can't play pvp because they are literally disabled/handicapped but there's no way all these shieldless passenger liners, freighters,(I even nailed a corvette today) are handicap blokes that strayed into open whilst board hopping. I'm fairly sure they are fully capable of understanding the nuances of open play and the risks they took when they made the changes in outfitting.

I really doubt anyone removes their shield generator and says "nothing could go wrong"

And this is coming from someone who flew a shieldless conda to colonia from cubeo and back with passengers. Couldn't take hull dmg and I couldn't be scanned. I knew the risks and the reward and it worked out. But I knew what could go wrong while outfitting. It's a conscience decision to forsake defense for profit.

Lol they can play how they want in open too your not going to stop it nor do you set the rules, what will more than likely happen is you will be put on people's Xbox block list and your instancing will get quieter and quieter

Newsflash: self appointed space cop bully wants a pat on the back for telling a others how to play the game his way.

Sometimes I wonder if I should venture into open and see if it's worth my time...posts like this just reaffirm that my private group choice is and always will be the right one.

This game, to me, is a breath of fresh air away from all of the annoying pvp cod, gears screaming shouting shooty pew pew games that I have grown so tired of. People like this are everywhere. Keep your open mode...if you need me, I'll be flying around in my hairdryer powered unshielded bicycle wearing no underwear whilst whistling suicide is painless

Like I said previously, they can play however they want, it only makes the way I play easier. I'd rather play without the care bears anyways. Participation trophies are sold in solo

Breaking news!!!!: care bear remains in private/solo mode. No end to bubble boy play style in sight.

Enjoy your pve!
Lemme know when you're bored!
Opens not hard, getting away from "greifers" isn't hard. Playing like a care bear is what puts you on the food chain. Also, rebuy is super low, and money is easy to come by. People without legitimate excuses to play in open (I.e the differently abled) are afraid their poor choices will affect their profit margin.

Psssst, we're all bullies here. 90% of the thread is attacking me for saying that people who "play their way" should assume the risks assosciated with their play style(which apparently isn't realized in pve). I can't get off my high horse because the white knights are all on stallions too.

Extra Extra, online forum contains differing opinions. :D

I don't think the idea that shieldless freighters/liners are more at risk to pew pews is an opinion.
It's more like an obvious statistic, like going to a hot zone without body armor results in a higher chance of getting shot, or riding without a helmet increases your chances of severe injury, or putting a pool in your backyard increases your chances of drowning.

People want all the bells and whistles without mitigating risks. Albeit, shooting people to solve the problem is an opinion, but so is the idea they should be left alone altogether

Sorry, Fude. My previous comment was directed at Kenneth Mcgrew, playfully, as he/she chose to address and quote me directly. I see now that it isn't very clear. Allow me to edit that...

Also, people just don't like being corrected. Note how offended people get when you explain they have spelled something wrong. Or used a word improperly. Or check their math.
Most people would rather just stay ignorant than be open to constructive criticism.
Take my ex-wife, for example...:p

Good game innit.

Have fun

You're kool skunk. My bad.

Well, to be fair I am doing what is pretty much the equivalent of breaking into people's cars and stealing their stereo to raise awareness about locking car doors. But hey, I bet people lock their cars after a burglary or keep their car somewhere safer. afterwards. Thankfully I'm only breaking elite dangerous laws.

I knew peeps weren't going to like the way I addressed the problem, but I never expected people to argue that CMDRs without shields should not expect trouble and I should respect their way of play, even in open. The way CMDRs are responding to some player on player carnage , you'd think I was doing legitimate griefing in mobius.

FDEV, please put those buffed murder npcs in low-sec/anarchy at least. Apparently npcs need a buff to make security ratings on systems mean something.

Hands down the best game on Xbox live, and I used to prefer FPSs(No CoD though)

Mods:Thank you, I may larp being an opportunist lunatic in game, but I appreciate y'all not being bias while addressing cyber harassment.

You have the freedom to do as you please. No, I don't agree with what you're doing, but I find it extremely stupid to fly without appropriate defences - especially if the pilot does not have the experience to outmaneuver an interdictor. In open, everyone is fair game but obviously it's more efficient to go after the seemingly easier target, yea? Basically those people have it coming to them, especially if they play in open!

This will probably be an unpopular post....

There is an alarming amount of CMDRs in this game flying ships that are too big for their britches or even flying shieldless/without adequate defenses.
(I'm looking at you, passenger CMDR that slaps shields in the smallest module class)

In response to such gross negligence I have started a one man awareness campaign!

What I do is pull CMDRs over after checking their internals. If they don't have countermeasures, aren't shield tanking, or god forbid, flying shieldless I will interdict them.

From there I let them live if they do one of two things:

High wake out (I give them time)

-

Stop and talk
-(which then I tell them to fly safer, and the utilization of high wake)

If they try to low wake out / speed away from my RNGineered cutter I proceed to kill them for their negligent risk aversion and not participating in pvp dialog when in open.
If they fly without shields I open fire on them immediately; too inexcusable.

If you fly recklessly and refuse to participate in player to player communication in open mode I will send you back to the solo/group modes from whence you board hopped from.

I respond to salt with tips as to help them avoid getting destroyed and wish them a good day. I'm sorry that the npcs don't put enough pressure on players to fly with shields. It's to the point where speedy SHIELDLESS FREIGHTERS/LINERS are the most efficient money making strategy.

It's time to teach people risk management. If you want to grind credits at a popular system please stick to solo. No harm done, everyone solo grinds every once in a while. But I will punish you when you fly like a fool in open. Otherwise players will never learn how to avoid griefing.

Butttttttt......
If you want to play the game of sharks and minnows in open please do! It's a rewarding experience and really breathes life into the game, and staves off the grind. I'm not always the shark, I also enjoy getting in a freighter/liner and successfully getting away from "greifers" and completing my missions. It's not really difficult, it's just not the most efficient way of making credits.

My experience with the awareness campaign day 0:

9 interdictions/station intercepts
4 kills, 3 combat logs, 1 free to go, 1 successful escape
(List not in chronological order)

1- dolphin -low wake attempt action:Eliminate- status:KIA
No comms

2- "harmless" anaconda - low wake attempt
Action:Eliminate status:combat logged
No comms

3- master anaconda- low wake attemp
Action: eliminate status-combat logged
--After I received a salty message he learned the difference between high/low wake. Very educational

4- deadly shieldless Python -
Action: Eliminate -status:KIA
Party invite: we had a good laugh and his buds laughed at him for flying shieldless. He knew the risks and accepted them

5- shieldless harmless sidewinder
Action: interrogate Status:free to go.
Responded to comms, he forgot he was in open. He was Taxi'ing between stations.

6- competent beluga - low wake atmpt
Action:Eliminate status: KIA
No comms-back to solo with you

7-Type 6 low wake attempt
Action:Eliminate status:KIA
No comms- wrong board hop amigo!

8-expert diamond back explorer
Action:NA status:combat log durring interdiction

9-elite shieldless black DBX-
Action:Elimimate status: escaped
No comms-**used silent running to creep away from me. Very sneaky.

Day 1 of awareness campaign:
I'll just post the most interesting/reoccurring targets. Too many combat loggers.

2 pvp FASs- both combat logged

11 belugas/orcas/dolphins killed

1 shieldless master corvette killed

4 harmless anacondas-2 of which logged, 2 died

1 expert imperial cutter- high wake! Yayyy

Summary- none of the passenger liners high waked, anyone that actually tried to fight me combat logged, finished the day with about 23 kills(some of them blew up but didn't give me a bounty due to clogging) and I be in the top 5 bounties now.

TLDR;

My goal is to educate CMDRs, promote faster/stronger minnows, have some bants, and banish lazy board hoppers back to solo/Mobius.

I'm on Xbox btw
That DBX made me laugh. Elite, Shieldless, Matte Black. Sounds like INRA.[alien]

Like I said previously, they can play however they want, it only makes the way I play easier. I'd rather play without the care bears anyways. Participation trophies are sold in solo

.

your missing the point, if it's only you on the block list when you load the game you will be put in your own instance while actually in that system there will be let's say 10 cmdrs but because one has you on the exclusion list your excluded, effectively you could be putting yourself in solo

I don't really care about what your doing, it's easy to escape / avoid PVp even without shields just pointing out your teaching method Is not going to work ;)
