Is also seems to show that Salvation's technology isn't as Final Solutiony as some of us think, since the energy weapon only seems to break their technology instead of outright exterminating them.

This assumes that a race of bio-mechanical aliens are unaffected by a weapon that destroys their bio-mechanical ships. It also assumes that they'd survive said ships crashing/exploding as a result of the weapon at a reasonably high rate.

Oh, the causality rate will still be extremely high, just not genocidal. The question is whether or not the weapon kills the Thargoids outright.

The lock is something I do manually, it's not automatic, and usually occurs some time 1-2 weeks after the CG ends however if a CG thread still has active (and on topic!) discussion it will remain open.
That said, that linked thread does look like perhaps a better place to continue the discussion of this thread
