I found an unidentified signal source and thought i'd head to it in a well armed cobra mk3.

Found another cobra who was a pirate so I initiated combat.
In 3 seconds I had his shields down and hull down to 44%

At this point he decides to ram me. I've got 100% hull and full shields and I'M the one who blows up!! [redacted]

(By the way i've also got that very expensive armour)

Happens to alot of people ... me included. Though it doesn't make gaming sense , I console myself ... it does happen in real life sometimes. Probably your fuel line was hit and some nuclear reaction were going off and kaboom ... sorry dude :smilie:

AI cobra's typically have a tactic where they run away from, outside of laser range (so to 5km or so), then they turn and charge you.

They basically play chicken, and typically 'blink' and veer off when the get within hundred meters (or so) of you.

They don't seem to blink anymore. I jousted with a Cobra last week and it slammed into me nose to nose at full speed.

There wasn't enough left of me or my ship to fit a cargo canister.

Had this curiosity occur at the Fed distress call in Eranin as well.

In my Sidey, taking down a smattering of the Federal Fighters, when one decides to ram me. He's on about 20% hull with no shields, I'm on 100% with full shields...

I explode.

I've been rammed a few times especially by the fighters at fed distress. I guess this is a valid tactic for saving a crippled ship and gaining a posthumous medal or two.

Anyway I've always survived them I think because of hardening the shields by putting 4 pips into sys.

The same thing happened to me in Viper on the same location. I throw three day of grinding money with Hauler away. No way to start trucking again.

Ive seen a couple threads on this topic today..its a bug, Beta n all......

I had a Viper trying to scan me and failing due to zooming past me, eventually the inevitable happened. I should have saved, quit and the ticketed, rather than go boom and ticket!! Die and learn!

Had this happen in fed defence and the fighter survived. Lol.
