Hi all,
I'm new to Elite and have only been playing since the official release.
I know one of the aims of the game is space simulation and that you have to keep and eye on things like your fuel levels and stuff but I recently attacked a pirate in an imperial sector and a friendly ship flew into my fire.
This placed a 200 bounty on my head. I know that to remove bounties you need to dock at a station so I tried to dock at a couple of the stations in the sector as well as a couple in a nearby imperial sector. No joy. Every time I would request docking I would be told docking denied meaning I could neither refuel or payoff my bounty.
I therefore though that It may be because the bounty extends across nearby imperial sectors so decided to plot a course to the nearest independent sector which was some way away.
Anyhow, to cut a long story short, halfway there I have run out of fuel in my main fueltank as I have been unable to dock at any stations. I have enough to cruise about in the sector I am in which is pretty empty and consists of a star and nothing much else. My question is, how can I refuel so that I can make the jumps to my destination?
Is there such thing as a space AA that you can call out and get them to refuel or tow your ship to a station? It seems like a major oversight on the part of the developers if it is the case that in a game such as this you can be left stranded in the middle of space with no options other than to clear your save and start again or self-destruct. The thing that makes it even more funny is that I'm carrying Hydrogen fuel as cargo and cannot use this to power my ship.
If anyone has any suggestions or tips to get my out of this predicament, it would be greatly appreciated as I love this game and have even gone out and brought a special setup for it but this fuel experience and the inability to pay off your bounties to nearby patrols seems a little silly to me.
Cheers,
jezzipin
