The aliens are (presumably) NPCs. You're not safe from NPCs in solo.

Aha! So people are actually getting pulled out of flying between systems - didn't realise that. I thought they were getting pulled out of supercruise. Duh - I can be so stupid sometimes! In that case I apologise to everybody if I appeared to be insulting - wasn't really - just being ironic but even that wasn't warranted.

Yes, Thargoids are rumoured to have truly mastered hyperspace technology.
They apparently do not just use it to travel through, like humans, but can also stay there and dump us back into normal space at will.

But of course we have no confirmation yet that these ships are Thargoids.

Pleiades area near Maia - I have been jumping between systems with a UA in the cargo hold - 10+ jumps in open, 10+ jumps in Private and 10 + in Solo ... still nothing yet... maybe tomorrow.

Most of these, if not all, were addressed in the mega-thread that is no longer stickied. There were a lot of conflicting reports, but I believe the consensus was that proximity to the original location was the only important point.

I've not been hyperdicted yet.

Same I was completely unable to manage it after weeks of trying. I was out of the bubble for a week when it first started happening. Was in the shell area, carrying UAs or not made no difference.

Does anyone know if it's still going on, or was it only for a set time?

No!..for two reasons: (I) normal interdictions are in supercruise & (II) even if your premise was correct, the two words don't contradict one another; however, 'hyperspace' could be construed as superfluous in that case.

ive been hyperdicted 6 times, 3 times in solo, 2 times in open and once in private ( 5/6 of those ive been carrying 10-14 unknown artifacts and probes in various mixutres) only once was i hyperdicted empty

That last bit about your cargo may be a bit misleading. How often have you flown in those areas with an empty cargo vs cargo with artifacts/probes?

The theory it's more common with that type of cargo has been widely debated and afaik not proven or any hard evidence provided.

Hyperdiction is not based on mode. Nor do you need to have something specific in your hold. However that is not to say the certain things don't have influence. Suffice to say, there is chance involved, but it is not just random.
