Random Fine - 4.5mil

So, doing the Fed rank run between Ochosi & Chakpa and simply delivering data missions and running a profitable cargo run backwards and forwards. I come to dock in Chargaff and see I have only been granted Anonymous access. I run to Williams to find the same.

Puzzled, I check to see if I have a fine and nothing, so log out and back in, in the event it's a bug. Logging back in, I'm hit with a 4.5Mil fine from an organisation I'm an Ally with and no idea what for.

This happen to anyone else and is this a bug or have I missed something obvious. The amount of fine tho....jeez.

there usually is a valid reason............
granted it could be more clear as to what the exact infraction is
Thank you for the link, definitely didn't commit a single one of those. On the mission failure, no mission gave rewards above 140k credits (and I had the anonymous access arriving at the first port after picking up mission - a single 13ly one jump), so hadn't had a chance to fail anything at that point. Even so, if it was a fail (and again a simple data delivery quest doesn't have fail conditions as far as I know - maybe bonus payment timers, but not a fail), 4.5 million credits seems a bit high for a 'minor' crime.

if you fail a delivery the value of the cargo is part an parcel of the fine and can be very much higher than it's worth
personally i only take on single missions to find what i may be being fined for until i have isolated what my exact infraction is if i am being fined often.....
reloggin more frequently so servers are forced to update assets.
i am not saying it's not a bug but havent seen many postings as to your problem so i dunno..................🤷‍♂️
if you are sure you are innocent post a support ticket and after a telemetry scan they will reimburse you if found not guilty
delivery time may be a factor for failure they may offer a job that cant be completed on time as an independent courier its up to you to decide that it can be done on time b4 accepting the contract.(they used to be far less forgiving in that regard back in the days when small furry creatures from alpha centauri were real small furry creatures from alpha centauri ;) )

You could search the log files for the amount text and see what caused it.

Thank you all for the suggestions and input.

It appears it was due to immediately abandoning a mission that I had mis-clicked on. It gave about 140k credits as a reward but needed cargo moving, which I hadn't the loadout to do (i am focusing on donations and data delivery). Abandoning (saying sorry I shouldn't have chosen that one :)) gave me the fine at 40 times the possible reward. Seems a little over the top to do this to an Ally

That what I said initially - failed mission fine. It says what fine will be, so read it before accept.

Abandoning a cargo mission gives you a fine assuming you stole all the cargo - even if you never picked it up, or even if you delivered it all except one unit (choosing to partially complete the mission is only an option if you're at the destination port).
