Random friend requests?

Why random cmdrs do that? What do they expect? Why they don't talk first? Some of them are persistent and they will continue to spam you with requests after your decline. When you hail them in chat they do not reply, but they want to add you for some reason. Who are they? Scammers, stalkers? Do you accept friend requests from a cmdr who pass you by and says nothing? What do you think about such behaviour?
Personally I reject all such requests at once. I don't see any point in having such person on a list. Only ones I accept are from interactions within game; whether is a small talk inside the station, some hijinks with others outside the station, fellow forum members or cmdrs with whom I had fun during CG wing activity bounty hunting session or hauling and those are really good because quite often we see each other on next events and they are like trusted partners.

I send in-game FRs to everyone I instance with. If/when players ask me why, I send this direct message in chat.

"At some point I instanced with you in Open.

I send FRs in game to everyone I instance with.

No worries if you're not interested.

o7"

I currently have 960 "Acquaintances"...and I generally see about 8% to 15% of them online at any given time. It makes the game seem more alive...
