Random Hard-mode Pack Design Challenge

This is entirely arbitrary bit of fun, but a simple challenge:

Design any pack of your choice, but it's not allowed any:

  • Carnivora
  • Ungulates
  • Birds
  • Primates

No reason, just liked the idea of seeing what people come up with!

For my own attempt, which turns outto be even harder than I'd realised:

Pacific Rim Pack
  • Japanese Giant Salamander
  • Northern Tamandua
  • Marine Iguana
  • Black-tailed Jackrabbit
  • Asian Giant Softshell Turtle
  • Coconut crab
  • North American Porcupine

Reptile Animal Pack:
  • Argentine Black-&-White Tegu
  • Cuban Crocodile
  • West African Slender-Snouted Crocodile
  • Marine Iguana
  • Red-Footed Tortoise
  • Green Sea Turtle
  • Arrau Turtle
  • Ball Python (Exhibit Animal)
  • Corn Snake (Exhibit Animal)
  • Central Bearded Dragon (Exhibit Animal)
  • Crested Gecko (Exhibit Animal)
  • Leopard Gecko (Exhibit Animal)
The DLC pack would also accompany an update that converts the green and Lesser Antillean iguanas into habitat animals, being replaced with the Fiji banded iguana and Mexican spiny-tailed iguana. Nile monitors and Komodo dragons are also updated to perform deep diving.

Reptile Pack

Habitat
  • Frilled Dragons (large, arboreal, interesting behaviors and unique appearance. Also, generally jerks hence why no walk-through option)
    frilly.jpg
  • Lace Monitor (normal and bells phase)
    bells lace monitor.jpg
  • Some kind of cobra species (As many of them are quite large and could easily fit a smaller habitat like the tortoise size ones)
  • Roti Island Snake-necked Turtle
    Roti-Island-Snake-Necked-Turtle.jpg
Walkthrough Habitat
  • Sailfin Dragon (These guys are huge and come in normal, melanistic, albino)
    sailfin.jpg
Exhibits
  • T. insularis (comes in three morphs blue yellow and its natural green)
    insularis.jpg
  • Armadillo girded lizard (weird defense strategy, as pictured. Also, just an in general weird lizard)
    girded lizard.jpg
Walkthrough Exhibit
  • Chameleons (seriously, the MOST recognizable lizard and they don't have it? And yes, I DID post a picture of my personal derp)
    Leonardo.jpg
  • Flying gecko (seriously these guys are awesome looking even when not flying)

Decor etc
  • Signs for poisonous vs venomous (rl people need to learn this one as well. Theres only 3 snakes in the world that are poisonous, also venomous because they're clearly compensating for something, and they are all keelbacks. Though not all keelbacks are poisonous in fact few are and surprisingly they don't all live in australia. The red-necked, tiger, and i cant remember the third)
  • signs for scale types
  • more reptile shaped signs
  • scaled patterned pieces
  • walls similar to the wood bark pieces in-game already, but an entire wall pack of on/off grid pieces textured like that. Would be especially nice for people who like to build indoor habitats too.
  • reptile friendly yard pieces (ie firewood piles, logs, etc anything that would naturally encourage reptiles to make a home)
  • Climbing area for kids (because most reptile species are at least capable of climbing even if they aren't generally arboreal. Would also give some playground like options)
  • Education station, textures (toggle between an option for different scale types by default because reptile pack obviously, but also have an option for different fur types for those furry creatures already in-game so its more integrated with everything else)
  • reptile themed benches/tables (just without that weird pointed tail, im just googling images)
    serpent bench.jpg
  • reptile safe plants like pothos, snake plant etc. (Many plants that are safe for other pets or humans are harmful to reptiles. For instance pine and cedar are toxic to reptiles especially if they're not sealed really really well)
  • And a editable sign that can hold full paragraphs not just half a sentence!
Enrichment
  • reptile/small creature based climbing pieces
  • basking rocks (that operate like food/water in that you kinda need to include the actual item... or have something equivalent like how animals CAN drink from terrain molded pools but you have to keep them clean. In this case perhaps you have to place the natural rocks somewhere that isn't shaded for them to actually work as basking spots?)
  • heat lamps
  • misting system/nozzle (much like the water pipe but instead of on the ground has to be in a wall or against an object like a tree, and has an area effect like the heater/coolers already in-game)
  • hides (that operate similar to the burrow shelters where you can link them to a camera)
  • rockpiles (that operate similar to the burrow shelters where you can link them to a camera)
  • bug toys
  • include things already in-game like the feeder ball or the puzzle feeder with the reptile tag
Illnesses to research (yes im going there)
  • respiratory infection, one of the most common irl killers of reptiles
  • burns, from badly placed heat lamps being to close to when the reptile goes to use them. Again, sadly rather common (maybe have it show up on the heat map as a red/yellow/green where red is too close and green is too far away to be effective when placing heat sources?)
  • mouth rot
Faculty buildings
  • Laboratory (the first one is the venom milking station, but the bigger one is venom milking and anti-venon producing. Or have it a perk option like staffroom perks, that way you'd need two buildings to cover both functions)
  • first aid room (seriously why don't we have this already since we already have an escaped animals option? whats the point of having a dengerous animal escaped notification if the animal cant do anything anyway?) which can lower guest satisfaction if too many show up here. Which would in turn give good reason to secure habitats and train vendors up.
Guest/keeper interactions
  • being climbed on by walkthrough animals
  • escaped animals can bite guests or keepers can get bit tending habitats, not great if theyre venomous like certain snakes or how monitor species have an anticoagulant in their saliva and the komodo has true venom glands.
  • chameleon talks showcase that shooting tongue, frilly talks cause them to extend their frill if the talkpoint has the option to throw food in.
  • Tour point option, laboratory, where guests on tour can go into the building and see a demo then walk back out and continue tour.
