Random Mindstorm on more Lifeforms in Space

I am sure, we have yet to find all current space lifeforms, but aside from a few reacting to damage or light, most seem rather tame.
So while talking about my previous idea of witchspace horrors, we came up with the idea of a new lifeform, that would be gather around you as you charge FSD. And from there we started spitballing idea for new lifeforms:

  • As mentioned above: A lifeform, maybe a cloud, that assembles into a complete cover on your ship including your window as you charge FSD only to be burned away in witchspace.
  • A lifeform, that is attracted to an active shields and feeds on them, until it breaks, which causes them to withdraw.
  • Just as we have planetary lifeforms, that can be farmed for materials, why not have some space floaters, that drop materials.
  • On a same note as the previous idea, having a small chance of being able to refuel in a dead system through lifeforms, that give of small bits of fuel to scoop.
  • Lifeforms, that are attracted to heat and drain it.
  • As a more dangerous creature, maybe something that either straigth up increases energy consumption or fuel consumption if it attaches to your ship.

I hope you see, there this is going. And if you have more ideas, feel free to leave them here.

The only things that could "live" in space would be robots. Maybe small frozen plant like cells/bacteria that photosynthesize but not sure how they could reproduce.

Having them drain your shields is a bit much. Thunderstorms are a thing in Lagrange clouds and they can drain your shields a bit quickly as you may have seen.

Dangerous life could be interesting, as long as we have a way to defend ourselves against it. Ship weapons should do the job just fine.

Some containing dead life sounds interesting, but I would like to add some mystery to it. Like adding signs of weapons fire or radiation. It could even be randomized.

Farming them for materials sounds like an unethical thing to do, although the empire wouldn't mind. Extraterrestrial life is quite valuable.

The Thargoids life in the vacuum of space, the same applies to brain trees, Bark Mounds, Anemones and Sinuous Tubers. All of these, except for the thargoids(don't know about them), harvest the energy of a nearby star(s). Life that isn't carbon-based or water-based is theoretically possible. In the elite universe, thargoids are based on ammonia instead.

I would like to see a Von Neumann Probe gone wrong(grey goo is unrealistic) and evolve to act like life using a process of evolution and natural selection(mutations in code will happen on those and those who don't have the code to survive are destroyed). Artificial life in a sense.

I was taliking about real life, you are talking about a game. Anything can be added in a game including Space whales.
