just started playing this again a few days ago and it was working fine, got my Oculus Rift and now while playing i keep having random things turning themselves on and off. For instance silent running turns itself on in combat, landing gear and cargo scoop randomly deploy/retract in combat. whenenever i drop out of supercruise at a station the rotational correction turns itself off. wth is going on?

That sounds like ghost button presses coming from your hotas. How old is your hotas? That's what I would check first.
Edit. It you have another hotas try switching it out for the other one and see if that fixes it. If you don't, try unplugging the hotas and using Keyboard and mouse...
If it's the hotas causing it, you'll just have to replace it with a new one.
