Random Thought

My mind wonders on the Beagle 2 Landing run (as it's a fair old journey from the star). Anyway, my random thought this time was about ED planet naming. Was this one of the backing options with kickstarter? or was it to name a system? It was one of the really high pledges if I remember rightly.... if someone was to have bought at star in real life, with the certificate and the coordinates etc, would Frontier developments put the name into the universe in the correct position (instead of calling said star a random set of numbers) if a copy of the certificate was emailed to them.......

I should say at this point I do not have a certificate, but I would do it immediately if they did allow it. :D

Again this is a random thought, and try to see it for the humor side, then trying to tell me why there are oh so many reasons why it cant , shouldn't be done.

Unfortunately, most of the places where you can buy a certificate claiming a star, have no legal backing whatsoever; and most scientific bodies do not acknowledge them. So you might have been 'conned' sorry.

But we still have some very nice bridges for sale, and if you act quickly I may be able to get you a small stake in the Eiffel Tower :)

But could be a post-launch goodie if you pay a few pence extra FD would mail you a certificate as an explorer for certain discoveries in the game. Would certainly add to the immersiveness. And the privileged Alpha backers could get the certificate by default if they pledged at a level with naming rights. A possible small way for FD to raise more capital, but it might cost more in personnel time than profit...
