Rank and Reputation Aren't Going Higher

I'm sure this isn't a bug and I'm just stupid. I decided to rank up my Imperial rank and started doing missions in a couple systems back and forth to start. My rank started going up, but it stopped at 100% and isn't going higher. My reputation is also stuck at 83%, even though there is an arrow by the reputation saying it's getting higher. What am I doing wrong here??

Once your rank reaches 100% you need to do a "Navy Mission" a special rank up mission that can usually be guaranteed to be offered at your faction capital. Cubeo system should work for you.

Don't worry. Any missions completed past the 100% will tick over to your next rank. So you can still grind and increase your rank until you find a promotion mission. It may not change from 100% on the tab but it will still be counted.

Aaaahhhhh, got it, I remember those from when I played a while back. Thanks. Any reason that my reputation is stuck though? Not too concerned about that, but I'd like to know why.

Just good ole shenanigan's. Sometimes you do things so fast that poor ole ED won't figure out what happened until the next day or even week.. When I was power grinding for Feds same thing happened to !e.

if you are allied with all local factions alligned to the superpower, you can't gain reputation by doing missions for them, and therefor not gain superpower reputation - it's time to move on (if you want to gain more superpower reputation).

You'll need to shop around for an Imperial Navy rank up mission. Those only come from cordial+ Empire factions.

Super power rep doesn't really matter much...

Ninja! That said, there is something to waiting for those rank up missions. You appear to be able to gain rank at the previous rank's rate. So once you hit 100% Serf, it looks like you can gain up to 100% Master at the "Serf" rate.

wow! didn't know that. if i ever get a third account, and that needs a clipper or cutter, i know what I'll do. (my first account has all the raks, and my second lives without any rank locked ships above a courier very comfortable, because i couldn't stand ranking again).

Wow, is that verifiable? If it's true I feel a bit of a berk for trekking back to the bubble and looking for a promotion mission.
Try and get my head around the maths here (where's Rachel Riley when you need her?)

I think I hit 100% Baron after 2 or 3 data scan runs. Stacked to the max but including some from The Foundation on the basis that if I help both sides it will prolong the war.
Carried on and did 10 in total and when I cashed it in I was at 73% Viscount.

Two runs later I'm at 87%, so a gain of 14% meaning I'm getting a 7%ish gain for each stack - which will vary on factions.
That I went up to 73% suggests to me that it started counting it at a Viscount level from the point I hit 100% Baron.

So I don't think it's actually the case, but I'll ne more than happy to be corrected (quickly, before the beta ends and I do it again!) by somebody more mathematically agile. Preferably Rachel.

It's something I heard from veteran players a while back. My experience is purely anecdotal.

It may be that a watched pot never boils. When you can see every incremental increase, it seems to take longer.
