I know there are probably other threads regarding this but I haven't found much on my specific issue. I am trying to get my fed naval ranks. For the last week and half or 2 weeks everyday I've done at least 3 or 4 missions and a ton of bounty hunting and cz work for federation aligned minor factions. I am reading conflicting information on this so I would like answers to the following:
1. Do activities outside of missions ie. Trading, bounty hunting, cz kills count towards progression to get naval promotion missions?
2. I am allied with the federation, now at every system I go to I am already allied with minor factions associated with the federation. Is this supposed to happen or is it a bug?
3. How many missions are actually required to get the recruit progression mission? Someone had mentioned 32 but I'm sure I have done that many plus all my other activities (if they do indeed count)
4. Am I better off staying in one system and doing missions only there or going to multiple federation systems and doing missions for multiple minor factions?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated at the moment it feels like I'm just bugged. I'd love to know if I'm wrong.
