Rank grinding - Need more grind way

Hello,
After a long hours of play (Grind for the most of them) I have actually to grind ranks for Cutter/Corvette.
And no, sorry Frontier, you can't get me this time, I'm not gonna GRIND A MONTH (h24) for a rank. Not missions I mean.
Your missions <Please don't swear> you're ok with that? It's not interresting, we can't share with mates, it's not fun. It's just GRIND.

Why War Area for Empire don't add rank? Why sell Exploration Data don't add rank? Why each week on an Imperial Power (depend of the lvl ofc) don't add Rank?

I mean: WHY we have to grind BORING mission and and vomiting the most evil thing done in this game?
I can't actually play cause i have to grind that, and I prefer have fun on a war area than doing ONE mission.

Can you fix that? Your game is only about "RP on your head gameplay", and no, sorry but a courier actualy earn ranks, and a true warrior who destroy 1.000 ennemy ship per day don't earn ranks. Where is your RP now?

Thanks for reading, and sorry for my baaaaaad english, but i'm sure you get it.

After spending two days grinding rep to get a permit. I'm wondering if FD's idea of good gameplay is logging in and out of open and spending ten minute periods on youtube while waiting for a bulletin board refresh.

No, FD don't play to they're game. They just add "Funny Grind system" and no gameplay.
And now, I want this Grind of rank removed or add the ranking for War Area/Explo/Trade ect. We grind, but on our way, missions sucks SO MUCH.

By the looks of it, FD wants us to exploit charity missions to earn rank. They should have just let us purchase rank with credits. Would have saved a lot of time.

There is no problem for me, I can farm and give money.
Why don't add a "Give money" instead of log in/Out mission with 20/30K ? Just give directly the amount i want?

Earning rank requires playing 'a lot' of the game, so it's obviously supposed to be a slow process. Therefore, to rush ranking we have to play a lot of the game quickly. Since the gameplay is highly highly repetitive - and we have to do a lot of it in a short amount of time - this becomes a grind REALLY quick.

I'm pretty sure FD knows this. I'm pretty sure they want it like this. I'm also pretty sure the solution is "don't grind" . This isn't a game to drink in all at once, but a game to be sipped slowly and savored. At least that's what we're told over and over on these forums. I don't think FD has ever officially stated one way or another.

I just wish missions could be more immersive. I'm an agile developer too so I get iterative development and the beauty of procedural everything. I can respect that. Kinda wish I could see a backlog and maybe comment on priority.. I think players who've invested a lot of time are stakeholders too. ;-) I'll shut up now.

Well, "slowly and savored"...I vomit all missions, so "Slowly and Savored"... I prefer quit the game. And a lot of people will do the same I think, only cause we have to grind ONLY missions (or connect/disconnect method...) and this is horrible.

I have gotten to Duke/Vice Adm buy spending my time shooting up bad-guys. Sure, I have done, and do missions on occasion but, I spent most of my time in CZ's/HRES type environment. I have a touch over 6 weeks played. That's kind of effort one has to put in. That seems doable, especially since I enjoy doing it. It goes by quick enough.

Then something is really wrong with my account. I've played since day 1, I'm deadly in combat and almost all my CZ/RES time has been spent in Empire space, turning in bounties to Empire stations. Yet I am still only Viscount. Maybe time to make a support ticket.

It took me 5 months to get to Admiral in the Fed Navy.
Early on I used to follow the permits and find a new area of the Fed to explore (not real exploring, but the economy does work differently in different parts).

At no point did it feel like a grind, and at no point did I feel the need to log out and back to look at the mission board - clearly an exploit. I consider it on a par with in/out to change the spawn in a Res site, not as bas combat logging but much worst than using up all the landing pads on an output in a CG - that was unbalancing, but emergent gameplay. So people that do that with the mission board are worst cheaters than CODE in my book, because it is solo activity most people do not consider it using an exploit.

Ranks come along when you choose a side and do missions/other activity for minor factions supporting that side. If it seems like a grind, choose some intermediate objectives other than next rank, that have the side product of also increasing Fed/Empire reputation.

You've done missions. But for explorer? And for bounty hunters ect?
We have money but NO, we have to chain "courier" mission or other stupid and useless and REALLY BORING missions. Because there is no end game gameplay and Frontier prefer hide that with a HUGE grind system (ranks).
SO yeah, i'll chain the connect/Disconnect, and nobody will add a "give money" or just a new ranking system, and the game will continue to lose the small amount of players.

I hope really see another Space opera compete Elite ... It will be fun.

The trick is not minding the grind.

not everyone has the patience for this hehe, though i dont mind the missions grind that much.

but having more ways to rank wouldnt be to bad. I never understood why bounties, mining, trading, and exploring counted towards ranks and powerplay.

you do stuff for your faction and empire, but it does not count unless it is a mission, thats the only gripe i have about it xP

Be honest, in fact, grinding ranks is grind because you want it fast, cause you have never make a single mission or a single rank before. Why ? I suspect because it's not a good source of credits... And now, because you want the new fashion big ship, you want the rank fast and grind for it...

The rank mecanic is know since ED start. In order to ranking, you must make missions... Just accept it, and don't blame the game and say GRIND because you haven't make missions over times !
If you want your Cutter/ Corvet quickly, you will grind yes ! But nothing in endless space forcing you to rush it, or to have it. This grind is only a choice !

Actualy, because i have never make a single rank in empire since gamma, I have started my empire rank. And after only 1 mounth, with something like 3/h days, i'm earl +20%. I have make a lot a missions, it give me a lot of credits, it give me some fun, it give me some free system scans and some Exploration % and i know this is only my fault and my choice if i'm doing actualy only missions. Because i want a new fashion ship :)

And don't ask me why Explo/ fight/ Trade not giving ranks. It's not my game but FD game. I'm playing it like si it. And, again, ranking gameplay is know since ages...

My only conscrn about rank and faction is making it dynamic ! Grow in empire rank and rep = you loose rep and rank in oposite faction...

Who makes you doing it? He is yourself, isn't he? So why do you force yourself into things you obviously don't enjoy? Because you want it so badly you take the hassle?

Elite is a lesson for your own life. ;-)

Because I have all other ships I want. And now I want corvette and Cutter for spend money and have fun in this grind game.
And no, I have make some missions i'm lvl 3(Empire) and 7(Fede), and It's just... horrible. Just doing this lvl is horrible and SO boring (I've stop the game months cause of that.)

And no, the "Elite is like that from 84's" is invalid, a game need evolution not only a poor copy with graphisms. If it's that, we should back to the real Elite and uninstall "Dangerous".

I've play on my way, I've explore a little (2weeks, and i've stop, it's always the same..) I've fight with friends (but NPC are ... and over stuffed to hide that) and trade (Boring... A->B->C->A... W00t.) I've try smuggling, but Frontier have done broken Smuggling.
I've done other activities... Same. It's grind, without depth and flavor.

But here the subject is "Why we can't give money" (And force us to log in/out) and "Why other activities don't give ranks", like War/Explo ect.
I'll call the "RP on your head gameplayers", where is your rp here? If you give courier or save a pilot on a planet, you earn ranks. If you kill 1.000 Ships of the other faction, you don't earn? kk.
