[RANKING] It's so close now, I can almost taste it

After months and weeks and days, a ridiculous absurd insane amount of game hours and more
"Docking successful, engines disengaged" announcements that I care to think about, I'm close now, mere days
from attaining the Elite trading rank.

The last few days I've gone all in; doing nothing but trading, accepting none of usual distractions such as
the kill missions, CZ's, RES', food- resource-, data handler-runs, and "Obfuscated In The Outer Rim" mysteries.

The road has been fun and not without the occasional facepalm moments. Oh yes, I've crashed my ship a few times,
the obligatory meeting with the back end of the station wall because you:

"thought it would be a good idea to remap the boost function from the tab key to the space key, what could possibly go wrong?"

Or the wth-moment closely and almost immediately followed by the facepalm moment when you are busy in the gal-map trying to
find "2 food cartridges we can't live without", interrupted by the deafening alarm "Eject, Eject, your ship has exploded" because
you couldn't be bothered to enter the safety of the hangar.

But I'm not done, I still haven't gotten the most coveted rank of the 3: The Elite Combat Rank.

So hello "Docking successful, engines disengaged", here I come.

It's so close now, I can almost taste it

Fly safe

Edit: Got real close and the taste is very sweet. Got an in-flight "Right on commander" at 1,008,851,936 CR. Picture below is really a spoiler, expand at your own risk.

Good for you! I'm not sure I'll ever attain an Elite rank - in any of the 3 professions.

I've played for a year, and don't have the stamina to "grind". I thought I was going to hit Dangerous this weekend, but in the end I just flew around playing between the asteroids and interdicting wanted pirates. I could have hopped into a CZ or shot targets in a high intensity RES (which I did, for a little bit), but instead chose to goof around and simply watch the combat antics of others.... The heart-pounding moments came from nearly getting blown up by a CMDR in a Clipper (I was silly to engage with almost all my chaff and SCBs gone) and a brief engagement with an "enemy" CMDR in a Cobra who I interdcited in my power's space. That was more fun that shooting fish in a barrel, to be honest!

That's exactly the way I think you should play ED; the way that gives you, the Cmdr, the most pleasure from playing.

Fly safe

Agreed. I just do what comes to mind.

I even go bounty hunting in a beefed up T9.
Highly recommended.

The AI seems to agree, because I got assaulted yesterday by 3 tenacious and well armed authority ships, all T9's.

I'm at that awkward moment where I can't fight in an asp because my power plant will get wrecked, but I want to fight so I fly a vulture instead, except it's hard to find cargo space when I need a fuel scoop/scb, and I also love my docking computer too much to make room for real modules, and I can't wait until I can afford a python.

Sorry, the point is I want a ship that will let me entertain my ADD, but I have to specialize or suck for now.
