Ranking the Empire

'Lo folks!

So I've been ranking for the Empire; currently doing the Mainana-Ngallinn run...echoes of Ceos all over again lol.
I've only done one circuit but wanted to look at other options.

The Wiki offers this suggestion:
"Running passenger missions at a damaged station for Empire allied factions. The sheer number of missions and quick trip to the rescue vessel can fill the progress bar quickly. "
OK - so a quick look at the map shows a damaged Imperial station only about 100ly away - a quick hop in my Python.

For interest's sake, I'm going to cram a bunch of pax cabins into Hertz Doughnut and see if I can go collect a ton of self-loading baggage. Since I've run VERY little pax, what's the best configuration for my ship?
Also, should I leave the Python and get my Beluga up here? (I know what Rick6549 is going to say...lol) I haven't run many pax missions so I'm asking here first. :)
Cheers!

I ranked up on accident for both Fed and Empire doing rescue runs in a Python at Thargoid attacked stations because I enjoyed the gameplay. I thoguht it had gone away?

In any case these are not your typical passenger missions. Just bring your heatsinks, strip your hardpoints and use the smallest shield you can get away with, then stuff whatever ship you use with economy passenger cabins. If you have an overcharged power plant and can get away with using an unengineered, or an armoured engineere power plant, do so to reduce your heat output. I recommend a medium sized ship unless you are confident with how fast you can land and take off from a burning station in a big ship, and you can already burn through the missions faster than they can respawn in a medium. Docking computer does not work at the burning stations. These mission last a couple of minutes usually. No need for anything special outside of that really.

Great info! Thanks!

And yeah - I've docked at enough damaged stations to know it's bloody hairy. OK - once this run's done I'll stuff a ton of economy in there and head out. :)

I used to do these in my Cutter, so you should be fine in the Beluga. I'd fit some reasonable shields if you are in a large ship as the debris can do you a mischief if you go too small there.

I cheated :D

Jumped on EDDB, looked at all the nearby Empire systems, selected one that had was High Sec, in boom, and only had a few stations but ensured that those stations had at least half the factions were imperial. Set up home at the station, spent the first hour getting allied with the imperial factions, then just took all the courier/data missions, any cargo (both fetch and deliver) missions, making sure I concentrated on those offering increased Rep. Always took the rep reward option in lieu of credits.

A couple of sessions later had gone from Count to Duke and didn't get burnt out doing the same missions over and over again. Yep, cheated the system :D

I think you're all getting confused about 'Damaged Stations' and 'Repairing Stations'.

There are currently no Damaged Stations, these are the ones that are on fire and have a Rescue ship nearby.

Try running missions between Hip 8444 and Hip 8758, needs a medium pad ship, I recommend a Python with cargo racks.
