Ranking up with the Empire :)

Is this the news I have been waiting for, what kind of missions were there, charity?

I've been ranking up from Earl to Duke for the last 3 or 4 days...since I don't do combat missions, I was primarily doing BB trade with the odd high influence/reputation smuggling missions thrown in. I deliberately keep my rep with both the Federation and Empire as high as I can as I'm playing... have done since GPP2. It's fairly easy since I don't get involved with powerplay as it messes with my normal eclectic gameplay style in ED as a whole.
Once I see the rep drop to friendly, I shoot down to Empire or Federation space and hit the BB until I'm allied again. Only the Alliance remains as friendly at 54% although I have all their system permits.
I trolled all the stations and platforms in Cemiess... most of them had short hop low to medium influence trade runs from Cemiess to Vequess which is one jump away. There were slightly longer 3-5 jump missions too and I picked up any trade hauling missions from the platforms/stations I went to. All this in a Python with 184t of cargo space...I stacked missions a lot, but no solo/open farming of the BB.
Believe me, 3 days of all nighters and hundreds of missions making roughly 1-3% rank progression for every 3-5 missions...it was a grind

Why bother doing classified data transport? It only gives medium/low and takes time + they send you all over the place even if they're small jumps.
You can stack surface missions that all send you to the same security station on the same planet you're on and go do all of em in 2 minutes
I stack Cut the power/Installation/Open the Gate/data retreival/cracking down, etc.. Everything but the ''Take down'' (kill the Goliath) really.
Usually I end up with having to kill 1 generator, scan the comms tower and kill a few sentries.
After that you just go see the goliath, he gibs you and you rejoin ship/turn in 50+ missions.
I can stack about 50+ of em in 40-60 minutes depending on refresh rate. They're all medium/medium and I get from 2.5 mil to 5 mil in 1 single visit to the security base.

That sounds like an awesome plan. We will do that when horizons comes out to Xbox one.
In the meantime this is one of the better ways to do it. Plus the system they two about there is like four main hubs and the normal jump is just a system away.
