ranking up

hi everyvody

im ranking up in empire currently serf and have read i need to gain more faction standings within empire but my question is, does killing wanted in say RES sites increase your standing with the factions or do you HAVE to do the missions?

ranking up in RES can have a positive effect on the factions but can also have a negative effect too, for example you might pick a fight with a wanted that has a good empire/local faction and would give you a bad rep for killing them,
I found that it was easier to load up with non leathal weapons to say 50 and hop from station to station doing missions and running goods till I got allied with the empirejust the delivery missions and the covert missions that require you to hand over the non lethals for the local faction that were empire alligned, once you hit allied with the empire the minor factions would start to appear allied too at this point, you pretty much have to keep on the move doing more mission and cargo runs for the minor factions but not staying long, because once you ally with the minor factions the gain to the major faction becomes almost non existent after 1 or 2 missions for them,, its time consuming but it works.

luckly iv been attacking only the hostil factions that arnt tied to empire, always checked before engaging while the k-scanner did its job

still feels like its taking a whille though to get next rank mission dreading what the next one is gunna be like lol
