[Rant] Default keybind to eject all cargo + kebind reset on update is a recipe for disaster

So I'm flying around anlave in my clipper trying to get the poor people of Hart station their medicines when i drop by at hogg station. I'm just listening to music and minding my own buisness when i undock and all of the sudden my coms pannel is getting spammed with fines 315CR FINE FOR DROPPING INSIDE STATION. Next thing I know I'm swimming in my own cargo with 1.6 mil down the drain with insult to injury with the 21k cr fine i now have. I was so mad i boosted through the door smashing a poor commander in a mk III and dropping my own hull down to 75% (i think the commander wasn't harmed too bad), the station won't even repair my damage. Seriously FD, why is this a default bind and why do keybinds have to reset every update, yeah I could have avoided this but a few changes would save tons of people frustration and money.

If you're wondering why I didn't have it disabled I thought I did, the reason it was active is a result of keybinds resetting.

Yes, it is a default keybind. Agree, they should remove it or at least set it as a two key combo by default.

You are in a Clipper though, this the first time you've noticed that bind?

With regards losing binds every update, I don't.

I never noticed my keybinds get reset after an update. I guess I'd better check mine since I disabled that keyboard shortcut completely after pushing it by accident once.

It's a silly keybind (and when are you ever likely to need to jettison ALL your cargo all at once?) but uhh seriously... how did you get as far as owning a clipper without noticing it and doing something about it? I deleted that keybind completely in my first sidewinder, and doublecheck it's still gone after every update. If you MUST keep it, change it to something difficult like "ctrl-right windows-end" or something.

I've lost my keybinds to an update, a while back though. It's also been known to happen when starting the game with the controller unplugged.

Because this area of the game is known to be a bit flakey, I would suggest:

1. back up bindings after every change.
2. check bindings have not been changed after every update, by beginning with a training mission.

Commiserations to the OP.
