First off... im so close to uninstalling this game and being done with it, its not even funny. I really do feel like ive ploughed so much time into a broken game i might as well just call it quits now
So, ive ground out just over 100 million in trading. Worked my way up to a Type 9 going through all the ships on the way.
Ive made about 300k in bounties to put that into perspective. Yes, i have just spent the last couple of weeks as that guy with a white van in space. Was it boring? Very, very boring. It got so boring that i usually trade while watching netflix on another screen. I found myself watching old crap ive watched several times. Ive hauled well over 100,000 tonnes of cargo.
As a beta player i get access to Jameson memorial, which grants me 10% discount on ship purchases. The first ship i bought here was the ASP. By the way, that 10% discount thats advertised, and shown on screen during purchase... yeah thats bugged. The ships cost full price.
Asp 6.somthing mil
Type 7 17.7 Mil
Python 57 mil
Type 9 77 mil.
These prices are guestimates, i really dont want to launch ED to get accurate prices, but these are the ships ive purchased here and lost my discount on. Thats around 16 MILLION credits ate by a bug that was reported during gamma. Why was this not fixed for release? Was it simply due to the fact that people who had access to this had already been parted with their hard earned and the new stream of sucke.... ahem customers wouldnt get that function anyway?
Anyway... last night i was grinding and watching Netflix repeats, my sights set on the anaconda.
Ive got an upgraded T9 and almost 30m credits. another 20 or 30 and i can take another look at the anacondas price and grind more to take into account the fact -10% is far to hard an equation for the shipyard to fathom.
Next thing i know, im having a religous experience right there in my cockpit, as Jesus turned water to wine and bread to fish, my holiday miracle turned my 500ton of performance enhancers worth around 3.7 million into animal meat. Yay.
After logging off and back on my cargo was returned and i was able to sell it, accept the damn market forgot to actually pay me. Fantastic. so my losses are now in the region of just short 20 million credits due to bugs/errors or otherwise out of my control.
Today I hear of a fix, a user created one of course as as usual no one from CS or frontier has even acknowledged what the issue is.
I sold a cargo rack and re bought it, this resets the cargo apparently and your good to go. Except once again, it didnt credit me for the sale of the cargo rack. To be fair, this one is on me, the part if my brain in control of reasoning and logic must have been out to lunch and the rest blindly believed frontier cant screw it that bad can they? Yes folks i sold the first rack i came to, the 256 ton one, yes, the 3.4m credit one.
So, im now 23.4 million ish down due to bugs and glitches.
Chin up, carry on, no point getting demoralised i thought, so first venture out of the station, 500t of performance enhancers on board (3.7ish mil) Docking at my destination with power to shields, i find it slows the ship quicker than the throttle for some reason, probably another bug.
A sidewinder, the starter ship, crashed straight into my Type 9. Instead of bouncing off as you would expect, my ship is destroyed!
A sidewinder!
Looking at the insurance screen, cargo gone and it wants 3.5 million to give me my ship back. FOR heaven's SAKE FRONTIER
Im now down just over 30 million due to bugs and errors out of my control. 30 freaking million. Oh yeah, if i had that, i could maybes just squeeze into that anaconda i WAS aiming for.
A buddy of mine just asked for my opinion on the game half way through writing this, i told him, it has potential to be something great but at the minute its so broke it you wouldnt want to play it. When i told him about the bugs that eat credits or in some occasions randomly give players 4 billion credits, he told me he would give it a miss. At least i feel as if ive done my duty as a friend instead of sending him balls deep into a piranha pond.
Anyway, hope these issues will be fixed before release.... oh wait.
