Will trading Rare commodities with a minor faction Increase both the influence of the Minor Faction you bought them from and the Minor Faction you sold it to more then normal trading? or would it be the same as normal trading?

Rares for the sake of influence function the same as any other commodity, even with its quirks.

Only where you sell them does the influence be effected.

If you bring something to sell at the station you buy the rares, then that will effect that station.


The quirk with Rares is that their increase in price will mean that at their max profits they will cause more influence changes by the effect of the value than if you sold them closer.
