Have a read of the goods below and vote above for your favourite.

Thanks,

Name of Rare Good: The Hutton Mug

Short Description: Delivered over vast distances by those in search of a profit, the Hutton Mug is only sold to commanders who make the painfully long journey to Hutton Orbital. Made from the salvaged frame shift drive plates of ships that run out of fuel before reaching the station, this is purely a vanity item commemorating the epic journey. Its value lies in its rarity and latent frameshift energies keeping your drink that little bit warmer for the journey. Availability: 1t. Smashing.

System & Starport: Hutton Orbital, Alpha Centauri

Means to Create: Collect and deliver x tonnes of scrap/black boxes (basically, any salvage) to Hutton Orbital

Name of Rare Good: Tylerium Infinity Diamond

Short Description: "This diamond - actually a naturally-polished crystal lattice of superior-quality tylerium - is one of many such treasures extracted from dangerous and unstable abandoned mines over the past 30 years or so, by the most daring and cunning adventurers. Ownership of these beautiful objects has been associated with an increased incidence of Shuffle Psychosis: suspicion of people from all sides, auditory hallucinations of repetitive music, and an irrational fear of eggs."

System & Starport: Tylis; Hayden Camp.

Means to Create: To reach the first tier, deliver and sell a total of 9,999 mineral goods at the station. This unlocks the rare good, at between 1 and 2 diamonds per instance. Additional tiers, unlockable at 99,999, 999,999 and 9,999,999 minerals, allow more Diamonds to be available per instance.

Name of Rare Good: Potrykus Scorpion Peppers

Short Description: Claimed to be the hottest spice known to man, and estimated to be almost half a billion on the Scoville scale (the technology to accurately measure does not yet exist) these small orange peppers were created by fusing the DNA of a local scorpion-like creature with various capsicum-related plant genotypes from ancient Earth - however the conditions to grow this unique plant are extremely delicate and demanding, and often entire crops can be lost with just a fraction of a degree or single percentage of humidity being incorrect. As a result, the cultivation is done almost entirely by computer control, with robotic harvesting. Fans claim that past the heat, it has a unique flavour, but most feel the spice is simply used for novelty value, with tourist spots around the galaxy often claiming it's use in "the hottest" signature dishes on their menus.

System & Starport: Potrykus Market, HR 1254

Means to Create: Land Enrichment Systems, Agrimedicines, Pesticides, Computer Components, Robotics

Name of Rare Good: Yamazaki Dream Cream

Short Description: Yamazaki Dream Cream is a pleasant smelling substance that when smeared on the forehead produces thrilling, adventure-filled dreams when in REM sleep.

Why spend thousands of credits on invasive virtual reality implants when you can have the most exiting and exotic dreams you've ever experienced and it's completely natural. Wake up every morning feeling exhilarated and thoroughly entertained. The best thing about Yamazaki Dream cream is that you never know what your gonna get. Your own brain is the most creative force in the universe, you'll be amazed at what it comes up with.

You'll fight sky dragons in the atmosphere of gas giants and rescue maidens from undersea castles. You'll find treasure in a field of dreams, be kidnapped by pirates and become one of them. Say goodbye to mundane dreams about your neighbour's noisy trumbles, no more nightmares of unfinished paperwork, open the door to a life of endless adventures. Yamazaki Dream Cream guarantees total recall after waking and has no harmful side effects. It's even safe to use on animals so your pets can share the fun.

Yamazaki Dream Cream was developed thousands of years ago by Shinto monks who discovered a strange purple moss growing at the side of the waterfall that supplied their monastery in the foothills of Mount Fuji. The pollen from the moss sometimes leaked into their water supply causing some monks to have what they thought were religious experiences. After many years a young monk named Hiro Yamazaki, who possessed a scientific mind, theorised that the strange purple moss could be the cause of the dreams after a huge storm washed away the moss and the amazing dreams stopped coming. When eventually the moss returned, Hiro started experimenting with samples and was eventually able to refine key ingredients into a paste which came to be known as the famous Yamazaki Dream Cream.

The descendants of Hiro Yamazaki now reside in the system of Anana at Yamazaki base where they live out their monastic lives. They cultivate the rare moss that grows only under very specific conditions which have been perfectly reproduced in bio-cells on board the station.

In order to make the sweet smelling paste the monks require large amounts of algae.

System & Starport: Anana, Yamazaki Base

Means to Create: Transport 50 000 canisters of algae to Yamazaki Base.

Name of Rare Good: Vargerson Platypus

Short Description: The animal loving people of Miranda II in the Vargerson system recently requested Imperial dominion over Independence after a number of political activists associated with animal conservation were arrested and detained by the then controlling faction for the system. Consequently, Admiral Brennus based in nearby Rishair dispatched a military intervention force and within 48 hours, Vargerson had embraced Imperial juristiction with both Miranda II and the orbiting station, Browncoat Refuge, under the control of Rishair Emperor's Grace.

The imprisonment of the activists was in fact the deciding factor for the people of Miranda II in requesting Imperial intervention. The catalyst however, was a medium sized creature known as the Vargerson Platypus. Hunted almost to extinction for its liver, the Vargerson Platypus can still be found in limited quantities in fine and upmarket dining venues across the Federation. Since the intervention by Rishair Emperor's Grace, the Vargerson Platypus underwent Special Measures, to ensure the survivability and sustainability of this most unusual Rare Trade Commodity with a carefully prepared breeding program that activists had been calling for enacted. It is believed that this breeding program will help restore the Vargerson Platypus to safer population numbers and by managing the breeding and supply of the Vargerson Platypus, provide this Rare Trade Commodity with a sustainable future.

A Platypus is generally toxic to humans and only the liver can be safely consumed, despite the fact that the liver remains laced with harmful toxins. Such is the popularity of this rare food, that a whole commercial marketing industry surrounds the Vargerson Platypus, with a special advertisement scheduled to air on Radio Sidewinder with the catchy slogan "the Vargerson Platypus, food to die for".

However, beneath the surface, elements loyal to the former Government responsible for the near demise of the Vargerson Platypus have entered into agreements with criminal gangs in outlying systems and a thriving smuggling market continues to operate, further endangering the long term prospects for the Vargerson Platypus.

In response, the people of Miranda II and the staff at Browncoat Refuge offer a bonus on all Bounties collected against Pirates and Smugglers in and around Vargerson and surrounding systems. By removing the threat posed by these rogue criminal elements, the people of Miranda II can ensure that the Vargerson Platypus will continue to be served as a Rare Trade Commodity throughout the galaxy for generations to come and that limited legal supplies will be available for distribution from Browncoat Refuge.

System & Starport: Vargerson, Browncoat Refuge

Means to Create: Bounty Hunting CG, Vargerson.
