Rare goods competition...

So in my inbox today was a newsletter. Scanned through, and saw this:

"Between July 10 and July 19 we're opening the doors for submissions on our forums. We'll be asking for a name, a short description of the item, the system and starport where the Rare Good should be found, and an idea for the Community Goal that will bring your creation to life. On July 21 we'll be putting our favourites to the vote on our forums, and the winning entry will be featured in-game."

So can I post my rare good now and it be an entry (today is July 10)? Or must I post it somewhere specific or on Monday?

The newsletter also says "Keep an eye on the forums this Monday for full details on how to leave your mark on the Elite: Dangerous galaxy with a Rare Good of your very own." Monday is not the 10th, so that doesn't add up to me. I'd hold off posting any ideas until there is something official to say how it needs to be submitted.

Does anyone know if it's possible in ED for community goals to involve delivering the new rare to specific locations? I've not paid a huge amount of attention to CGs in the past and the only delivery-based ones I've seen are 'one-ended', i.e. picking up cargo (from wherever you can) and delivering to the CG station. I've got an idea for the new rare but it kinda hangs on being able to do this.

AFAIK, this will be the FIRST one to involve new commodites, let alone rares. Though rare goods come in limited supply, usually anywhere between 0-15t. And once you've bought that, you must first go and sell that commodity first before you get a new "allowance" which will be the exact same.

That would be very interesting though (provided there'll be larger allowances or lower thresholds/higher times). You may of course suggest that - they might find the idea very interesting and choose it. BUT, wait for Monday and for the news stuff with the official posting thing. Otherwise, it might not be counted.

Good point, never thought about the low supply amounts. But that actually just gives me an additional idea...
