Rare items, can they be sold anywhere

Hi all, im looking to start trading in rare items and was wondering can they be sold at any station as long as they are a good distance from purchased source?

I found out that some will not be purchased by some places. For example, I picked up some Eraninan Whiskey last time I passed through. Took it home to my 'Deep in the Heart of the Federation' system, no one would offer to buy it, even though I was in that sweet spot of ~150LY away from the source.

Finally read the description about how it was made to celebrate 30 years of independence from the Federation....oh. So, yeah, sold it on the Black Market.


Also, looks like Rares are not in Slopey's tool. Guess they're not really needed in there, but...would be nice.

In another thread I explained the mathematical functions behind the distance behaviour of the rare commodities. Unfortunatly I don't have the time to prepare the data to be used in other tools. I hope for some spare time next week.
