Rares?

I picked up some kind of egg in Lave, and I've traveled about 100ly from Lave now, and it is still the same price to sell as I bought it. Is this a bug? It said the farther away you get from the system you bought it in, the more you'd get for it.

The Hairy... I mean Leathery Eggs? If you got those at Zaonce you won't see a good offer for them for quite a number of Ly... as Eldonirian wrote at least 200 Ly.
If they're the same ones I bought, they sold close to 50k.

And hurry, before they hatch in your cargo hold. If they hatch in your cargo hold before you get far enough away to sll them... Omy... better hurry.

200 Ly is overkill. 160 should be enough and on 130ly you are almost there.

At 100ly you should be making at least 5k per T, I sell at ~140ly for 15k profit. Lookup the rare thread for the Lave cluster.

Ok, thanks guys. I just figured 100ly would be plenty far. Only got 1 egg and bought it for $25k. At least I'm making some money by exploring on the way.

That egg is one of the worst rares, since few spawn at a time. The sweetspot for selling rares is 140-160Ly and should net you 16k'ish per unit. Naturally this isn't really worth it for one egg.

lol! I guess I'm tired. I finally put together the egg from the Ripley station. Time for bed! :D

I found some bertrandite I think its called. then travelled 100ly to sell it at my fav black market only to somehow press the empty cargo button next to the landing pad.
so I panic and try to manoeuvre round to pick it all back up only to crash. that was one of my first trips that ended badly.... kind of thing you only do once...(I hope) :)

I have a couple of things NOT mapped to a key that can cause an accident.

'Boost' is one and 'dump all my cargo' is not mapped at all :)

Maybe I had to go 200ly because the offer wasn't good in the stations I visited? I have noticed variations in offering prices.

Yup.. dump all cargo was the very first one I 'unbound'.

I just find another station selling rares 100-120ly away and run them to that one then find another, it's not the highest profit margin you can get but a small fast ship with a 20+ly jump range can make a million creds in an hour or two without needing a huge cargo hold.

Slowest part about the whole thing is the crappy galaxy map that will sometimes plot a route and then when you come round the same way again wont do it to the same locations!
