Rarity of base-game animals with all DLC's

As much as I'd love to try reporting this one, the issue reporter is being weird about anything I try reporting.

Anyways, I've noticed that certain animals which, while understandably rare to appear in the market, seem to be getting even harder to find with each new DLC. Ring-tailed lemurs, for example. Nearly my entire starting population aged into infertility before I saw a new one available to get, and I remember them being easier to find when the Aquatic pack had just come out.

Possible workaround to this could be increasing the amount of animals in the market at a given time?

This is a very good point and concern. I've actually had some concerns about the long-term viability of the trade market from the beginning. As less players play (or even just play but not play franchise) less and less offerings will come from other players, which means the frontier offerings will become more the makeup of the offerings. I also wonder how long Frontier will continue to put up animals into the market - certainly for a few more years, but let's say 3-5-10 years down the road, will they still be doing so? At some point that the offers become a rarity as a whole, less players will participate in franchise mode and the game will shift more and more to sandbox only players.

While I think the trade market is a good concept and is working as is, I think a better long term way of getting animals into the game would have been how it was done with most other zoo games - animals get a set price that you can always purchase at that set price. That can still be CC, if we still release animals into the wild - for a higher calculated cost than is currently done, as I would think with that setup we would not release into the market.

Oh I was talking about Challenge mode. I don't play Franchise because of how ridiculous the market is most of the time, but that's a very good point there.

Ah, yes, Challenge mode could definitely have the same problem down the line, if Frontier doesn't release as many animals in the future. Honestly, I'm not sure how the Trade Market works in Challenge mode vs. Franchise as to the source of offerings - if the ones offered in challenge are the same as what Frontier offers in Franchise or not I mean. But either way, could be an issue for sure.

Overall agree, on both sides even though I don't play Challenge, I've noticed less base game animals be available as time goes on.
