These days, when in-game, I am often finding myself nobbying about getting fun and interesting shots for a new movie trying out different ships for different ideas or otherwise nipping off with the old trust Vulture to a RES area or conflict zone to try and recoup some of the credits for the frankly way too many ships I have needed to subject to an untimely death for "the arts" of film-making or similar!
Ahem!
But on occasion, I like to re-emerse myself into the more serious side of Elite and get back to some proper Bounty Hunting and go looking for some of the well-known pirates that might be in the area.
Unfortunately, this can be a lot more difficult than I would like, since it is harder to locate player pirates in the game at times, than finding the target of a Hunter-Kill mission that has bugged out!
So it got me to wondering.
What about a Bounty Hunter's forum / page on the forums where you could mention the pirate that you are hunting for and ask if they've been seen recently and where.
I don't know whether this breaks the "Name and Shame" thing, since you are not attempting to "shame" them... just hunt them down and end their existence with extreme prejudice... and money...
At the same time, those pirates would also see that someone is hunting them, so would be a little more cautious (if they happen to be somewhat brazen in their pirating at that point).
It would also drive more traffic to the forums, especially for bounty hunters and would also provide an avenue for hunters to arrange "Posse's" to go over these criminals together.
Just an idea or two.
