raw materials gathering

Hello Commanders,

i tried searching the internet/forums for this but could not find it, so heres my issue.

Before Odyssey when i was looking for raw materials i used some of the meta-websites, located a fancy planet near my location, flew there, dss'd the planned, tried a few geo/bio sites and gathered my stuff.

how does this work with odyssey since i can not find (even on my old bookmarked/mapped planets) any bio/geo sites any more.

please hook me up with some information, i feel pretty lost right now.

I tried similar on a planet with geo sites in the past. After scanning it showed a heat map. So I landed at a place that looked like it had a high heat map signature. Down there, I found some geo-site looking things with crystals growing on them once in a while driving around, together with normal rocks. I think that is how geo sites have been replaced. Just a certain density of additional crystals on top of rocks depending on the geo site magnitude of the planet and the heat map.

That makes sense. More realistic distribution instead of easily found concentrated sites. More seek and find and less grind.

Ok it works, I found materials. Scattered everywhere but the heatmap helps.

I found a planet with a thin water atmosphere and 8 biological signals.

I didn‘t find any locations for the signals and haven‘t understood the thermal mapping. I decided to land at a random place with „daylight“.

There I found 3 different life forms. I imagine the 8 signals could mean 8 different life forms present, but you can probably seek for a while to find them all.

The planet was all colored in blue after using the probes, possibly indicating that the life forms grow everywhere.

It is certainly better and more „realistic“ than the exclusive locations in the pre-odyssey version.

Also I found no materials there, except from an outcrop.

Yeah the planet I found materials on was mostly blue on the heat map. I found flowery volcano things and after I drove another mile i found only three crystalines stuck to blue rocks.
