i see posts about a series of missions supposedly from the dark wheel, the first being obfuscated in the outer rim....how to get that mission?

Not for at least 2 rewrites of the mission generator. The stuff you are reading must be covered in cobwebs.
However, Hutton Orbital has missions that reward a Shift Key.

I have to say I love the new Shift Key ship.
I didn't expect so much from the april update!

The last Shift Key I used gave me a legendary rocket launcher with +500% fire damage and a special effect called "Yeeeeehaw!!" which gives it .5 sec reload time and 3-round burst-fire.
