Don't get too excited, they come up quite often. I picked one up in the California Nebula, and took a "famous explorer" to the Children of Raxxla staging point. Scanned a beacon there, then he wanted to go home. I didn't, and continued into the Formidine Rift.
The Children of Raxxla were set up to investigate mysteries (such as Raxxla, obviously), but there is no known connection between Raxxla and the Dynasty Expedition / Formidine Rift Mystery. It was just a different mystery they got involved in, which led to the discovery of the Zuara megaship and the abandoned Rift settlements, and the exposure of the Dynasty conspiracy (a suicide mission to establish refuges for humanity in deep space, ahead of an anticipated Thargoid invasion).
