Raxxla!

I doubt Raxxla exists... If it did, I would have expected Braben to be offering £50,000 for its discovery. Think of all the publicity that would bring for FDev. I think in the current climate of Elite that now would be a great time for a statement to be made that Raxxla IS ingame and a big prize awaits the pilot who finds it.

Raxxla exists, David Braben said so and that they know where it is. And lo!: Only yesterday, we had an Infrastructure Failure in the Galaxy leading to galaxy-wide login problems, and IMHO no other reason can be behind it than something in Raxxla went wrong, maybe one of the hamsters died. I firmly believe in Raxxla, but only #bazmeson and The Friend may have found it yet. Maybe we're just searching in the wrong place 🤷‍♂️

O7,
🙃

It has been discovered long time ago by a solo player who is not into lore. We will never get there, because it was expected, whoever finds it, will share it immediately on the forum. Like a lottery ticket that never has been redeemed.

AFAIK, that's something someone made up and not from any official statement.

"50k$ to find a hidden place in our game, which people have been looking for for 8years". Sure, let me download that game and play right away !

I found funny all the hype around Raxxla. We get little ingame, besides some urban legend and people made a crazy mountain around it. Some are literally obsessed by it.

We need to start a "Bottom of the Barrel Screenshots" thread for these.

Since it is most likely a gateway to another galaxy and/or dimension the obvious answer is that any player that discovers it is immediately translated by the power of Handwavium to that other galaxy and/or dimension and thus cannot post about it here (or if they CAN post about it here, there's a rather sizable propagation delay, say on the order of around 20 to 30 thousand years, even at FTL speeds).

With 400 billion stars to hunt through, you would be far better off buying 30 quids worth of lottery tickets than buying a copy of the game and hoping to find Raxxla. The odds for the lottery are about 14m to 1, and the payout usually significantly better than a feeble £50k. Far less grind too.

raxxla's only value is to drive players into looking for it. there's no gameplay implemented around it. finding it would be extremely negative for the game, since you then lose this "mystery" to search for.

If it's ever something that could be actually found in the game, it would have to be something that immediately moves so that the search can continue and never ends.

I think that's their best option to be telling the truth that it can be found in-game without throwing away their value built up of decades of mystery hype building.

So, if we stop looking for it, that may precipitate its creation, in order to re-encourage the aforementioned looking? Thereby facilitating it's timely discovery?

That costs money and investment of time and content creation. With a guaranteed inability to live up to the hype that surrounds it. It would make no sense to do anything but continue the interest in searching for it by not actually creating anything around it. The players / public will continue to feed this interest on their own, for free.
