Razer Wolverine ultimate buttons binding with Windows 10

Hi all,

I’m new for this game, only been playing for about a month. I’ve just bought a Razer Wolverine Ultimate controller (for its extra buttons, which are useless for any games). I’d like to use this with my laptop when I can’t use my desktop with HOTAS setup. The problems I have with this is very weird.

Other than the extra buttons are only the duplication of A B X Y buttons, the B X Y (only these three) don’t work properly with Elite Dangerous, or at least with some functions. The controller’s functionality works normally with other games, so far, even an old game like Final Fantasy VII. The control binding process in Elite works as usual and detects all buttons depresses. Only when I get into the actual game when the said three buttons don’t seem to work properly.

Those buttons would work if I repeatedly depress them (think some games that requires some repeatedly depress actions). Eg when I assigned B button to multiCannon gun, a single press did nothing. A few presses still nothing, hold it depressed also did nothing. But after repeatedly click (from frustration, lol), the barrels of the cannon start to turn. Repeatedly depress in quick succession resulting in the cannon start firing. All these did not happen with A button. These three, at least the X, would work with simple trigger such as deploy cargo scoop, but will be back to what I described above with functions like firing Guns/lasers or increase/decrease throttle.

Can you please suggest the cure or a workaround for this problem?

Many thanks in advance

Ken

Forgot to mention. I also have an old wireless Logitech F7xx which works, just old and the rubber surface feel a bit sticky. Also an Xbox One’s controller which I need to reconnect to Xbox every time after I used it with PC. These have fewer buttons so I bought the Razer, which again, wrong decision.

I have a Wolverine, I had no issue. Actually because I have 10 thumbs I had to disable the bottom buttons using the Razer software.
Have you tested the 'Advanced Control Pad' default scheme without any modifications?

I think you may get some conflicts if you use 'simple X assignment' when there are other assignments which uses 'X + LArrow' because most of the A/B/X/Y is used as 'modifiers' aka SHIFT/CTRL.

Test with one of the default schemes and see if the default combos work properly.

Thanks. I’ll try as soon as I can.

PS, I stayed with the "Advanced Control Pad" scheme. I did reassigned some buttons, but since I know that the buttons are being used as modifiers I stayed away from assigning anything directly to them.
However there are plenty of free assignments using combinations if you check.
Some combinations are free because certain features only can be used in certain modes (scan / combat etc).

Look for A/B/X/Y + LShoulder, .. +RShoulder, +LTrigger, +LStick down etc ...

I've tried other profiles, advance pad etc. Those buttons are still not working as a straight B X Y. You're right though that they're sorta modifiers. Only A that works as a normal button that I used to. Thanks for your help again.
