Hello - this is my first post here, so a little intro.
I first got into FE-II when I was at college. Me and my bro both had Atari 520STfm's. We bought it from a local market stall, and found out we needed more RAM. So the nights were spent arguing over whose turn it was on Dad's 520STe that had been upgraded to a whopping 4MB.
I have since played both FE-II and FFE on the PC, but, as with all PC versions, the Atari's was so much better. Probably why I prefer FE-II.
Anyway, having seen what has been done with the original Elite by berlios (Oolite). I was wondering whether there would be anyway of doing something similar with FE-II or FFE. Is there anyway, for instance, just to uprate the graphics? The pictures in the space stations shouldn't be too difficult as they are static images, but giving the ships a good 3D render might.
The only other thing would be to make it XP compatible.
That is probably all far too much to expect, but here's hoping.
In the mean time I will get back to playing a game I have loved for years (and eagerly await FE-IV - TNE, I hope it lives up to all our expectations).
