Re: Money Supermarket Trade Advice

if you do find out where the best spots are for selling please do let us know.. pm preferably
Void Opal prices are primarily affected by the Investment, Civil Liberty and Pirate Attack states. Best prices when all three are there, Boom instead of Investment doesn't drop the prices that much.

Boom+Civil Lib or Investment+Civil Lib will tend to naturally form in any mid-traffic or higher system, so then it's just a matter of finding one that also has Pirate Attack.

I usually cheat and check with EDDB. :)

Problem with EDDB is doesn't give you the best prices. Best to hunt a route down yourself, if you want to be a bit tight about the whole thing, make sure you disconnect from EDMC before you start trading, otherwise you'll upload the data and kill your route.

Buy food and sell in Famine state.

lol, jk, Famine rarely happens anymore....

While that's true, I'm happy with anything over 1m. You waste more time manually looking than you would just mining another hold full.

Edit: Unless you're talking about trade in general. I don't use EDDB for that.

Apologies, topic was about trading. Yeah for core mining, just check inara or EDDB, sell wherever is offering 1.6 mill. For high profit A-B-A trading, Polymers etc, check system states and find your own untouched route.

There's no time wasted really. Don't use EDDB. Use INARA and SPANSH

2 step process.

First you search INARA for a system/station near your location where they're buying VOs for 1.6m a ton.
Then you head to SPANSH and search for planets with ICY RINGS, nearest to that station buying the VOs high. Anything within 20LY is good.
If the planet with the ice ring is in the same system, that's even better.

Fly to said Ice Ring giants and do a Surface Scan probe into the rings. You shd be able to find VO hotspots most of the time.

Once the price of VOs on that planet drops, due to states or oversupply, repeat the search for a 1.6m system / ice ring system once again.

Yes this.

Just core mine. A good Crack on a rock gets you 10 to 15 tons of VOs.

2 hours in a Hotspot can net you 4 or 5 rocks. And if you Crack them open properly that's over 100m in profits. Just bring a Python for the job.

Most importantly its not a dull, life sapping, and skill less cargo run. 🙄😂
What?
4-5 rocks in two hours? I get 1 every 5 minutes. Lol

Actually the fastest
So do I. But few of them have void opals in them. :p

This.

I can find a rock every few minutes.
But they're either Brom, which I leave behind or Alex/Grandi, which I mine if I'm dry on VOs.
For VOs, it's like 4 or 5 an hour maybe.

RNGeesus doesn't always smile on you/

This is probably useless info in the age of core mining, but still valid for bulk trading:

Some PowerPlay factions modify commodity prices, independent of system states (they do stack as far as I know). You can find the exact effects of each PowerPlay faction on their control and exploited systems in the PowerPlay menu screen in game.

As an example, you can find an extraction system in Torval space which sells mined goods (like gold) cheaper, and then sell it in an Aisling Duval CONTROL system, which pays more for all "high value" goods (like gold).

Taygeta (Titan's Daughter) currently has Investment, Civil Liberty and pirate Attack. Just earned enough to purchase a T9 while running missions to Electra in a T7. I prefer the T7.
