Re: Phosphorus

I need phosphorus but I'm having trouble locating it. I'm reading I need srv.. I'd prefer to mine it in my current setup

Can someone advise where the best place is nearest to mainani to get it

Thanks

Most ice moons have it. It's a really common material, you just need to check the planet composition in the system map. Any outcrop or bronzite should then give you some.

You can get it during asteroid mining, I forget which rings have it.
It's not fast, but if you're mining anyway...

Look for a planet with geological sites, land, hop in the SRV, and pew pew and collect the materials there.
Needle Crystals will have G4 elements, which you can trade down for loads of Phosphorus.

HIP 9056, Planet A1 is likely to have geological sites, and is 29ly from you, and 29ls from the star.
You'll need a DSS to probe the planet to find the geological sites.

Or hop in a Sidewinder, spot the crystals from your ship, shoot them off with your laser and pick them up with your cargo scoop.

Alternatively, head to Mu Nialfi, planet A 1, scan it, and land at the geological sites, The G4 element here is Technetium, which Phosphorus is derived from in the trading menu. So you'll get even more!

This system is 30ly from you.

Phosphorus is an extremely common material, and is best mined on planet surfaces.

I don't care for the SRV but in this case you will save time using one. What I do is go on an extended mining mission and just scoop everything up that you find. If you do a few of those you can minimize driving time.

I've not even tried an srv yet. I'm sure I'll get one at somepoint. I appreciate there are many ways if getting it. All advice is appreciated. Thank you. I'll try and get a cargo slot of an srv and see what the crack is..

Throw a rock at any landable body, high chances are it contains phosphorus, which you collect in SRV nice and easy. Why just not fit an srv, it's not like they cost millions of Cr, why do you handicap your play? Honestly this looks like a troll-post born out of Sunday's boredom :D

The crack is it’s pretty shallow gameplay and you have to drive a buggy instead of flying a ship in a spaceship flying game.
However at least you have chosen an easily accessible mat to gather

You say that as if elements are difficult to find. :p

All, bar Selenium, can be mined in masses.
Admittedly, it's not much fun. But atleast it's reliable!

Rare manufactured and encoded on the hand...🙄

Geo sites are the best way now of finding raw materials, you can use >> this << to find bodies with both Phosphorus and Volcanism (extra column) close to you. Just probe the body and bounce from site to site collecting the mats.

True. I try to stay away from the srv as much as possible unless I’m getting mats. Scanning surface installations used to be pretty fun way of getting data mats though.

My big bugbear is wake scans, that is so dull, piracy is a decent way of making it engaging but getting G5 was too hit and miss to be viable if you want them NOW!
