Re: User Interface Colour Scheme

o7 cmdrs

I want to change the colour scheme in ED from the orange to a blue colour.

How do I do it?

I'm using PC and my game was purchased and runs through steam

Then you're out of luck, I'm afraid.
You can wait fo FDEV to implement the feature, people have been asking for it for years now, but don't hold your breath.
Damn..okee I'll not bother. I messed up a few games in the past I'm not risking my ED..

See the second link in my forum signature. Frontier is cool with it and has unofficially supported it now and then.

It's an override file the game checks for, not a core game file, so in that sense it isn't really a mod nor messing with any of the core game files.

Is the correct answer OP (try the corn flower blue option - it keeps the enemies on the radar as red with friendlies / unknowns a kind of green-ish...

You are not messing with the game code - you are just altering the HTML in an Options file - simple to do even manually and EDProfiler can do this for you plus many other customisable things too.

I just painted an overlay on my monitor.

Believe it or not, back in Ye Olden Days I used to have a pair of clips that I would put over the lower corners of my screen when flying in an AspX - to stop those two blue LASEK beams on the canopy frame tearing gurt big holes in my eyeballs.

Then I discovered the FOV setting.

It's an option. Don't see the need for third-party software when you can easily just edit a file though. The example I give in the thread linked to in my signature just so happens to be a soft blue too. Kind of helps to know what's going on with your files on your computer too. Never know when you might want to backup controller settings, etc. and not need to rely on third-party software.

Maybe it's just the IT nerd in me or something.

Cheers.
