That depends upon what your ship's jump range is and what your play style is like.
IIRC the minimum in-game time to Sag A is around 8 1/2 hours. Doing that not only requires exactly the right ship outfitted exactly the right way, but it also requires that you don't stop to scan anything along the way, and that you execute a hyperspace jump every 45 seconds. To manage that last bit may require some practice because you'd have to manage to do enough fuel scooping during the FSD cooldown so that you aren't required to stop jumping in order to refill your tank.

Thanks but for me that goal is a looong way off. Have to start saving for an Asp first. Only 1.5 mil to go! :/
Asp not essential. The trip from Sol to Sagittarius A* has been done in under 15 hours in Haulers, Type 6s, Diamondback Scouts and Diamondback Explorers, all of which are cheaper to buy and outfit than an Asp (of those, personally I think the Type 6 works great as an exploration ship).
Also - for long distance exploration, the key thing is to get a good fuel scoop. A top of the range fuel scoop is actually the most expensive thing you'll need to buy (more than the ship itself!).
The Asp is cheap compared to the FS you want. Dont take less than the 6B.
I guess the 6C will do as you wont know what you are missing, but if you are going that cheap, you might as well consider the DBE which sucks (or doesnt suck) at scooping
Good, if not best equipment for exploring are:
D4 Thrusters, D3 Shield, or no shields, A5 FSD, C6 Fuel Scoop, D4 Life Support, D4 Power Distributor, D5 Sensors and D5 Power Plant.
Also take large fuel tank with you, so you won't run out of fuel if you travel trough ocean of T and Y class stars.

I would suggest an A2 Power Plant instead of a D5. An A2 gives you enough power, it weighs much less than a D5 (=more jump range) and most importantly, it has a much better heat absorption when you fuel scoop.
