Reading the Communication HUD

I've applied the color tweaks to use deep green, which helps significantly in reading text while wearing the OR. The only place where I still can't read is the communications HUD (top left) while flying. I've tried leaning forward and squinting, but I can only make out a few words.

I haven't started playing multi-player yet. Do most people use the in-game comm system or third party voice apps? Am I missing a critical part of the multiplayer portion of the game if I can't communicate via the HUD?

I've been playing for a week. Only one person has texted with me. There is in game voice com if you have a mic as well. That being said, running Nvidia drivers with DSRx2, I have no issue reading any text.

Text com is a pain in the Rift...luckily I can touch type with it on. I hooked up my PS4 wireless headset with mic today to test; works like a charm. I think I will enjoy interacting over voice com.
